I was surprised that the dude that was hit by the car and died, I was surprised that he had pot in his system.
That wasn't a NASCAR race (they have random drug testing) but that definitely impaired his judgment to exit his car and walk down the track in a live race then try to grab the wing of a car as it passed. :bored:

The meal plan debate will probably be never ending, but for us, right now, it's worth it. Most of our meals are character meals. 3 of us for breakfast at CM was over $100. That justified the meal plan to me, since it was like eating for free for the rest of the day.

It also is a LOT less stressful traveling with my husband who doesn't like to see the money flow out of our pockets. I can pay for the meals before we go and deal with the grumpiness at home, pre-trip! ;)

Once DS gets bigger, I'm sure we'll move over to TIW and pay OOP. For now, I'm enjoying every minute that he wants to see the characters!!
Same here. It works for us so we use it. With any leftover snack credits, we bring stuff home. :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
In line for the Frozen Sing-along.
Hubby says he is NOT coming in, but will keep us company in line.

Meanwhile, my thoughts on the Poly refurb.
Inside looks better than I thought. The corridors are wider than they appear in pics.
Outside however, is a bloody mess!

Hubby took some over the wall photos, I did some through the fence, and then I took off my shoes and walked across the beach to get you some hut photos.
Enjoy:

22 huts - 1800 sq. ft. Price - out of my league, I'm sure!

And if we ever realize our dream of staying at the Poly, Hubby is going to spend a lot of time ducking.
Walking through the halls, his head almost touched the ceiling, and he had to duck through every door way and under every sign.

I can't believe how tall the huts are... I've heard that the view of MK was obstructed, but wow, it looks completely blocked. Are they pretty high up from the water or is that just the angle of the shot?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to stay in one, but I'm never going to use the majority of my points on one night - unless they are expiring or something. And I've been borrowing too much to let that happen! ;)

Yes, it's $60. To me, it's also quite a bit of a rip off if you're paying out of pocket, at least for my family. Usually, lunch for us is $10-15 per person. Dinner is $25-$30 per person (average, some are higher, some are lower). Sometimes we get snacks, sometimes we don't, but let's say we pay $5 for snacks (which is overpriced; usually it's $3-$5). That would be $40-50 per person not using the meal plan. Maybe sometimes we'd hit the $60 mark, but that usually doesn't happen. And most places accept Tables in Wonderland, which is a 20% discount. Which is why my family will continue to pay out of pocket rather than go on the meal plan. Not likely we'd get offered it for free as DVC members and AP holders.

We purchased the DDP on our last two trips 'cause I was still a CM at the time and it was 50% off ($30 per day). Would never do it otherwise. We ate like flippin' hogs. Too much food.
Next trip , we'll go back to our usual OOP. I almost never eat breakfast anyway, at lunch we split 3-4 CS/QS meals between the 5 of us, do mostly CS/QS for dinner as well, as we'll probably make only 2 or 3 ADRs. :)

I've done Orange before. Now, I can't say that Orange did this to me, but a day after that, (my return day home), I was ill and light-headed. The next morning, my head was spinning and I could hardly get out of bed. Was taken to the doctor, and he diagnosed vertigo, and gave me a prescription for some medication. Thank goodness it worked. Anyway, never had vertigo in my life before, and haven't since. To be on the safe side, I only go to the Green side now.

I've heard talk that orange has been "adjusted" a couple or so times, over the years, including during soft opening.
