Tell your 11 year old cousin that the Microwave isn't that old at all.

That Microwave is younger than a stove my parents used to have down the basement. My dad use to keep his grandma's stove despite me remember them never using that stove. That stove came from the 1920s or 1930s. My parents even owned that stove when you were growing up.

How my dad got that stove is my parents own the same house that his grandma owned. His grandma died about 4 months before my parents got married and my parents bought the house from my grandpa and grandpa's older brother. When my parents bought the house about a week before they got married, there was stuff inside house that his grandma had including that stove.

I stayed with my grandma two weeks over the summer. Asked her how old her washing machine and dryer are. She said "IDK, they were there when I moved in."

She married step grandpa 36 years ago and moved in 36 years ago. We have no idea how old they are but aren't questioning it.

We also have a popcorn maker that I'm fairly sure is from the 1930s.
