I used to watch that show all the time. You know what makes one feel weird? Constantly reading obits about people younger than I am. Makes me wonder why? Believe me when I tell you that I am a lot of things, but obsessed with health isn't one of them. Probably more now as I have aged, but even now I don't think about it all the time. My mantra is: Do I want to die a model of physical fitness or do I want to die happy. I, of course, don't what to die at all and as soon as I figure out how I'm going to do that, I'll let everyone know the secret.(Some may remember this actor, from an old sitcom.)
I read a recent report that 48% of Americans have high BP ( hypertension ). My numbers , weight , BMI are very good even with BP meds and my daily lap swimming is my drug but that rich fattening food I can just dream about.I didn't have many childhood things. I did get bitten by a dog once and didn't tell anyone because of the location where I was bitten. One time I was racing on my bike, hit a rock stopping the bike and propelling me over the handle bars landing on my forehead on a gravel drive. The hit rendered me unconscious and when I came too, my friend that I was racing with was standing over me. My head was resting on the seat of the bike which also managed to get in front of me. My arms and hands were all scrapped up and I had a bruise on my Stomach. I didn't tell my parents about it because I had been told in no uncertain terms to NOT RACE! I got away with it for a few days mostly because I had hair then which covered the bump and wound and long sleeve shirts (in the summer) to cover the rest of it. I eventually had to tell them because that bruise turned out to be a blood clot. My parents didn't over react figuring that I had suffered enough that I wouldn't be doing anything stupid like that again. They were right.
A few years before that I was sitting on the edge of a bathtub at home when I was about 10 years old and fell over backward hitting my head on the cast iron tub (1958). It cut an artery which then proceeded to shoot blood all over every time my heart beat. My parents had no training in first aid but managed to rap a towel tightly around my head, drove me to the hospital where I got stitches. I still have the scar. When I got their they commented on how nice the red towel was. It was white when it was put on there.
Except for minor bout with sprained ankle when I was pushed down a flight of stairs at school, nothing much happened until I was 61 and missed the bottom step on and fell directly on my kneecap not hurting any bones but severing my quad muscle requiring surgery. Since then I have been in and out of hospitals due to the nature of growing old. Cataract Surgery's, two kidney stones requiring surgeries to resolve, (the last one became septic, not fun) carpal tunnel surgery X2, Pacemaker placement, spine surgery (neck fusion) Stenosis in my lower back (they won't fix that because they are afraid to operate on an old person and mess up their mortalities history. Other than that pesky old High BP, I am the poster child of good health.
We use Worcestershire sauce once a month to make sloppy Joes.
Yes I have lol. Try it in devilled eggs and burgers.
Oh deviled eggs! My grandma used to make the best deviled eggs! We still have her recipe.Yes I have lol. Try it in devilled eggs and burgers.
How many people can pronounce that properly is the real question.
Yes. I've gone through several, actually.
Surely can’t spell it off the cuff but I know how to spell Mississippi from when I was young by singing it …We use Worcestershire sauce once a month to make sloppy Joes.
Mixed emotions here in that I understand exactly what your saying, however, I'm on my 5th or so bottle by now. One of the few things in life that doesn't expire in reality.
