What are you having? I might need to come over! Always wanted to do 7 fishes but my mom does boring chicken salad.
It could be worse.

My cousin's ex years ago made bad tofu for Christmas. How this happened was on my mom's side, it was my cousin's turn to have Christmas at his & then wife's house. My cousin's now ex-wife decided to cook instead doing alternate options including going deli or bakery.

What made it bad is she actually doesn't cook, but cooked on Christmas with the cooking skills of a person that belongs on the worst cooks of America tv show:jawdrop:. Besides making bad tofu, she couldn't make rest of the food she wanted to make, but made anyway.

Christmas day at my sister's house this year will be a couple different types of soups. I'm making beer cheese (the Le Cellier recipe) with pretzel sticks. She is making tomato and a chicken wild rice.

Christmas Eve my husband and I will have charcuterie in between his Christmas services. Our feast of cheesy hashbrown casserole, ham, cheddar cheese tartlets, and chocolate mousse yule log will be on Christmas Eve Eve.

For Christmas eve it is the family to my older daughters house. Pot luck combined with a number of finger foods. Not to exciting but my parents always had a Christmas Eve gathering which she apparently decided to continue in their memory. I like it because until the younger kids were born we always had that and stayed at home so the kids could stay home on Christmas day and attempt to break all the toys they got like magic from Santa.

Christmas Day I bring in a large box of gifts to my younger daughters home for a big Turkey dinner. Another tradition from our family. We would invite our parents (both sides) to our house. I will leave full and the box of gifts bounced back as just barely enough to put in the glove compartment of my car.

The day after Christmas I return to the home of my oldest daughter to have a Prime Rib dinner. Myself and my inlaws for a day of making nice. The Prime Rib was a family tradition for my son in law. Again rinse and repeat gift exchange. That whole three day extravaganza gives us enough family togetherness time to last until Fathers Day. With the occasional call to see if I still am alive and/or My daughters birthday (one in January and the other in April) My Grandsons, one on December 28 and the other February 10th, my birthday and my son in law in July, Granddaughter in August the other December 11th. The other son in laws birthday in September. The birthdays have evolved to not be whole family things except mine and Fathers day. So there you have my entire social calendar for a year.
Calamari fried, pulpo grilled, smelts the boys like them pan fried, baccala in tomato sauce, salmon baked with lemon garlic sauce, stuffed haddock, tuna grilled served over baby greens. It's interesting trying to do this with 2 with shellfish allergies. No mussels, clams or scallops this year:( The 2 going on the grill is weather permitting, I have alternative cooking/serving options should everything get done inside
Nothing on your 7 fish menu except the Haddock and Scallops (if you had them) would be of any interest to me. My enjoyment of Sea Food is very limited. Maybe Tuna, Shrimp or occasional Lobster or Crab Meat. Haddock or Cod is OK.

My favorite candy! I always got a box from my Dad on my birthday growing up.
It was my mother that always had a store bought box for me for Christmas. When she passed my sister began to give/send me some. Then my daughter started to learn how to make candy about 12 years ago and she began giving me a couple gallon food storage bags full of them for Christmas. They are to die for, and it probably would kill me if she made them all year. It is hard enough to ration them after Christmas but I can usually make them last through to the end of January if I have no more then 2 a day average. That doesn't mean that I don't indulge more, on occasion, when I have a day the requires an additional dose of semi sweet chocolate with that gooey white sugary frosting like syrup and of course the Maraschino Cherry center.

In the words of those cute little singing chipmunks, "Please Christmas don't be late".

I looked up pulpo and it looked good. Octopus dish. I never heard of it before.
I never heard of pulpo either, but than again I never ate Octopus. It shouldn't be a surprise due to my Wisconsin background. I've eaten fish, shrimp, lobster, and crab stuffed mushrooms. I might've ate scallops a few times in the past, but can't recall. I only know about crab stuffed mushrooms due to Supper Club.

When it comes to the type of food I mentioned, Fish is the water food I ate the most of in my life due to Friday Fish fry. Being from Wisconsin, Friday Fish Fries at big in the state. Fish isn't considered a Christmas meal based on how I was raised.
