NC when I lived there had terrible quality bagels, but the barbeque was top notch.

Thomas's are soft bagels, which is something I like. There are other good bagels around here, just not ones that I like. Used to be able to get onion ones all the time in Vermont as well as Georgia and Florida, but I guess they just didn't sell well here in NC.
