The onion bagel (Thomas's to be exact) work well as a bun for hamburger or fried egg, ham and cheese. That takes care of breakfast and lunch. The problem with the onion ones is that they are hard to find in NC for some reason. Just recently they started to show up on store shelves.I haven't had a bagel for some time. My preference is plain, but sometimes would buy a savory flavored one. (Savory ones would be for lunch, not breakfast.)
I love cream cheese, so that's my first choice for bagels. Butter is tasty, too, and peanut butter is also good.
From what I've read, other tourists were also victims of street crime -- stolen wallets, handbags, assault. (Firearms not being a major player in these crimes.) Irish police stepping up foot patrols in certain areas, and telling people to be aware of their surroundings, especially late at night, etc. (This is pretty much the same types of precautions that people would take in any large city.)Some US tourist got mugged in Ireland the other day and now the news cycle has begun: "Is Ireland safe."

NC when I lived there had terrible quality bagels, but the barbeque was top notch. The onion bagel (Thomas's to be exact) work well as a bun for hamburger or fried egg, ham and cheese.
