Some people's work is what keeps them going, and they have no plans to retire. Others can't wait to retire. And some like to slow things down and relax in retirement -- while also keeping a part-time, side gig. To each his/her own. We're all different people with different needs.

Yes, when my Pop retired from IBM at age 62, he didn’t stop working/keeping busy. He did yard work for people, worked at the next door neighbors liquor stores, volunteered to do taxes for the elderly, etc. As of recently, Pop’s not doing any of that anymore, although both Mom and Pop still do their own yard work, and they both stay busy with other things, such as at church, etc.
They’ve slowed down somewhat…Mom will be 84 next April, and Pop will be 90 in January. But, I drove by their house a coupla’ weekends ago, while running an errand, and Mom was in one of the flower beds and Pop was mowin’ the yard…fortunately, still quite the Energizer Bunnies for those ages…!!!!! :hilarious:

OK, just watched yet another stream POV of MMRR. I’ll reserve final judgement for when/if I ever ride it in person, but, it just looks like such a disjointed, Cartoon Network-ish style, mess. Right now, I still just don’t get it… 🤷‍♂️
It's super cute in person. The music is an earworm. I'll admit GMR was a once a trip ride for us, if that, and MMRR we do at least once when we're over at DHS.

I'm hoping to get out to DL next summer and ride their version, which is supposed to be different when it opens.

No idea....we don't have walmart here, so I haven't been to one since 2019. But they still had them then.
I have two Walmart's within 3 miles and two more within 10 miles. They don't have greeters anymore. Well I guess they do, but their primary job is the last chance to prevent shop lifting. If everything in your cart is in a bag they wave you through if you have something alone with no bag they ask to see your receipt.

So essentially, they're now security employees, versus the old greeter job definition. That's too bad.

Yep, as I posted, I’ll reserve final judgement ‘til I ride it in person, hopefully sometime in the not-too-distant future, as video just isn’t doin’ it for me.
Probably doesn’t help that I’m not much a fan of the newer Cartoon Network-like, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, etc.-type animation, either.

They are actually more "departers" now. Charged with checking items against receipts and then saying, have a good day when everything checks out.
I must be oblivious because when I was in Walmart in SC back in December, I didn't notice.

Also, the girl at the self checkout let me buy wine without checking my ID and I'm still feeling insulted by it.

It's the new Mickey Mouse cartoon style. They're cute.

This is my favorite...
