Are you moving up to a different position in the company -- or have you found something at a different company at the end of the year?

I give my two weeks on Friday. I'll be taking the train into Boston. Well, for a couple of days a week. Remote the rest.

I've never had a full time job close to my house (within a 45 minute drive) and this is longer but no driving for me.

They actually made a person who had less experience than me (only a month less) and only who is only 24....a manager after the previous one left...like how does that make sense.

Looks like between this thread and another one is the winner! That was mine.

I have no idea what to do with myself. Like, what do people with actual free time do?
My dad is retired, but I think he can't help you. He is even older than your dad.

He plays solitaire on smart phone and computer. He uses the computer for reading email. He also spends time on the internet look at different websites. He does read WDWmagic, but is not a member to my knowledge. He does shop online also, but does not do facebook, twitter, instagram, Tiktok, and discord.

He watches stuff on youtube on Roku with mom and does use Amazon prime to watch movies. Him being retired also means he can bake more.

Wow, sorry to hear they chose the other person for the promotion. But happy to hear that you scored another beter job. Very best of luck to you in your new position. Certainly, now is the best time to switch jobs, with many openings out there.

As for the commuter train, many people (both in-state and out of state) ride them daily. You'll find it's actually relaxing and can use the time to read on your phone, or tablet, or listen to music (with airpods), or even snooze. Commuted on trains for years. (They're a lot calmer than buses and subways -- which I've also used, depending upon my job location at the time.) Note: Just an fyi, to watch for the "snow schedule" that commuter rail has during the winter months -- some changes in train times, to adjust for storms, etc. There's an app you can put on your phone for updates, etc.
