It is easier to follow Steve’s news page vs forums this weekend He does post all major news without the Troll confusion.

I’ve learned over time some are here to take any opportunity to troll and repeatedly pounce on Disney which gets old. I look for Steve to provide real information absent of members trolling on forums. Steve is a class act and has a good reputation. Trolls they are what they are.

Actually, I have checked Steve's news page, as he is a reliable source. It just seems like there isn't as much "news" this year, compared to some previous ones.

I'm also selective about who I'm following in the forum posts about D23. Last year, there were a few well-known, very credible posters who'd update us, and it was really fun to follow them. This year, it seems like a bunch of random members (some of whom are lesser known) have been inconsistently posting.

I'm also assuming some of the disconnect going on here, is due to members mentioning that they have to turn off their phones and place into envelopes. Still also wondering if the main announcements are just being held for today, Sunday.

Yep. Most don’t read. It is becoming a thing in America today all the way to the top of our food chain the last few years. Some just find humor in anything Disney. Trolling Disney has become an art form on most WDW Forums.

Also duly noted: that is single person per room price. Similar to a single person on a cruise rate. If you have 2-5 it is dramatically less per person for the 2 day all inclusive experience. No park tickets necessary.

I am not a SW fan. So it isn’t for me but for those mega fans a trip of a lifetime.

All fancy words aside by Disney. It's a hotel. Might be an 'experience but at the end of the day, it's a hotel.

I normally don't pot product reviews, but I have to on this one.

I bought a new backpack for WDW. I decided to splurge and get an LL Bean. I wanted something smaller than my old college backpack, so I found this one.

Oh. My. Gosh. This is the most comfortable bag I've ever carried in WDW. I have my umbrella, my camera, and my portable nebulizer in this bag. I thought my back would be killing me. It's not. Not in the least. It's small enough to go on rides yet extremely durable. Seriously, anyone needs a new parks backpack? This one.

I've been looking on Amazon all this week for a new park bag. The cheap steering backpack i carried last year not only fell apart but it HURT so bad after an hour or so with a liter or two of water in it. I'm going to give this a try, so thank you!!

I like those ones, but i wouldn't wear Disney stuff outside of the parks. I have a box in my closet for my Disney shirts i wear during our trips, even. I can take the LL Bean one hiking, or to the zoo, or on a picnic, etc. I could with the Disney one too, i guess, but I'm just not into it like that.

Yup and many of us are adults and call things as the are not as they are imagined. A Star Wars hotel by any other name will still smell like a Star Wars hotel. Sorry, for slaughtering your phases Mr. Shakespeare.

I’m back for advice from impartial people.,

I found out a few days ago that my parents are taking the grandkids on a surprise trip to Florida in April.. not just Florida, Disney World... and not just my parents, my sister and bro in law are going as well.

I’m livid. Like seriously livid.

1. T will miss a week of school, and a week of soccer and baseball. (Which means that I can’t take him out for another vacation)
2. He has been asking me to go back to Disney.
3. Selfishly I do NOT want him to visit Galaxy’s Edge for the first time without me!!!!

I’m so angry with all of them. I said that I won’t allow it. My sister and I got in a huge argument, she wants to go because they did another trip with her mother in law. I can’t go at that time due to work, my mom says that’s the only week that makes sense for all of them and they want to experience WDW one last time with their grandkids. I’ve been asking them to go for the past few years and they always decline!! Now, they’re going.

Would you be angry?
Am I acting like a 2 year old?
I can’t say “no” because it’s not right to do to him, but I’m so hurt and mad about this whole thing.

Yes and no. I understand the way you feel. But grandparents don’t live forever, so I would let them have their one last time.

I may be a little bias on this because my first time to DW was with grandparents when I was 18. It was also the LAST time I ever saw them before they both died in a horrific accident, when I was 19. So I beg of you to put aside your feelings and let them have this.

ETA: think of how T would feel if he found out when he was older that you denied him the chance to go, just because you were feeling selfish and wanted to see things with him first. How would that make him feel?

This might sound crazy but once I took the attitude of “no expectations” life has been great. I find if you expect to much from everyone you’ll always be let down. So now I expect nothing and am constantly surprised by all the good things.

Personally, I do understand what your saying but live and let live. If that’s the week that works then that’s the week that works.

Thanks for sharing your perspective.

I’m so sorry about your grandparents. It’s really great that you had the Disney memory with them. I do understand what you’re saying.

My biggest issue is that they booked a week during school, which now takes away from any vacation that T and I could have had.. I can only take 7+ consecutive vacation days during specific weeks of the year, and they know that I canceled our DR trip 2 months ago.. I still have the airline credit for another 4 months. Planned on using it Thanksgiving and the following week.

I think it’s going to be a while before I forgive my sister for this. April is literally one of the worst months of the year for me OR Tristan to do a week long vacay, the 3 other grandkids aren’t in 2 sports at that time of year. My dad is retired, they can literally go any time.
I can’t even speak to her right now.

I realize I sound petty. Vacations (as in grandparents and grandkids) have always been scheduled around the most convenient times for the kids, and the parents. i.e. My oldest nephew plays high school football, my parents never schedule something once conditioning starts, thru the end of the season. This summer he chose to stay home and work in lieu of going with them.. but he could have gone.
I know 100% that my youngest nephew will switch to select soccer next year., I doubt my sister will vacation during april when that happens.

Alright.. p’d off rant over.
