We are back from Pittsburgh. It was an amazing day. What a great spur of the moment trip. We had never been to Pittsburgh in our 9 years of living in PA and dh had been a Steeler fan since he was a little kid. We first went to the Aviary. It is so nice and well done. The birds are just beautiful. They even had a sloth in the tropical area. It was sleeping of course. Here is his butt. He is all curled up.

The volunteer said he only comes down once a week to go to the bathroom.
Here are some of the birds they have there.

The Sea Eagle was huge! You obviously don’t have a size reference, but looked to be at least 3 feet high and was quite wide. He kept trying to pick up this feather with his talons. Next door to those birds were Bald Eagles.

It was 2pm about when we got there and we hadn’t eaten. They had a small cafe which was decent. I had a tabouleh salad and hummus wrap. There was also pizza, a nice variety of wraps, salads, etc. It was all priced decently as well.

We left the aviary at about 4. Heinz Field was basically 2 minutes from the aviary by car so we decided to drive there, park, and get a picture. We had no idea that the area would end up being so “cool”. We parked, got out and walked. There is a river walk right by the stadium called Green Rivers Park. It was such a picturesque place. There were so many people on boats on the river(s). Three rivers meet exactly where Heinz Field (Allegheny, Ohio, and Monongahela). There were house boats docked, people on motor boats, some were swimming by their boats. The stadium the Pirates play at is also along the walk. He headed up that way and noticed there was a festival called Picklesburgh going on along a bridge.

The floating tiki bar was funny.

Some random driving pictures. We ended up upgrading our aviary tickets to an annual pass since it only cost $17 to do that. We will definitely be back to that area. Dh really wants to see a game their now. A preseason since it would be cheaper.32DFCC90-9637-47F4-B447-CE2CF2A2B323.jpegEE965239-5DEC-4B96-9CD3-D299489C9208.jpeg352C1523-377A-41DE-AD9B-1B2AB735E1D7.jpegF82D27D3-F0F6-456D-A6E3-B42923194D2C.jpeg
We ate a a Blaze Pizza on the way home. Made it home in 2.5 hours so not too bad considering it took us 3 to get there.

We stay on property. We don’t want to drive the car while we are there.😊We share lots of meals. It works for us two.

With the exception of our honeymoon trip in ‘88 when we stayed off property and rented a car, we have always flown, stayed on property, and only used Disney transportation, for all our family trips.
The only two times we didn’t share meals was on our summer of ‘12 and ‘13 trips when I still had my CM discount for the DDP.
And yes, the closest any of us wanna’ get to drivin’ while we’re at WDW is the Tomorrowland Speedway...!!! ;):)
Also, it would take 2 long days of driving each way for us to do WDW, as we are not the kind to try to drive straight through. We have never been able to go for longer than a week, so we would have only 3 days at WDW instead of the whole weeek if we fly...!!! ✈ :)

And you are entitled to your opinion, and I have mine. No one is right, no one is wrong.
I agree it is all opinions. ‘Let’s think about the language we use and who it hurts.’ We have many millennials on this thread. That is my concern.

Here we can find just the marshmallows in some stores that carry bulk food candy, and there is an amish store in Indiana I've seen them at as well.
Us too. It is a childhood fantasy with Lucky Charms marshmallows. Another one is having a watch with a built in TV when I was in grade school like
Get Smart had. Oddly I now have An Apple Watch.

Seriously, I do wonder where all this is heading .

I'll tell you where I hope it's heading... I hope the cable companies are learning some lessons... Lesson 1. People want to pick and choose their programming. Lesson 2. Cable shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Lesson 3. Give everyone the same pricing. whomever came up with this you get XX price for 2 years and then because you are no longer a new subscriber, we are going to gouge you and not offer you the good pricing, should be hung by his/her toenails. Lesson 4. Good customer service goes a long way. (Looking at you comcast!)

Can you extend this to cell phone providers too? Thank you. :geek:

How awesome. Being a Windmill Survivor I loved the photo.
