Forgot to mention that we all had to get dressed up for the airport visit. (No one dressed casually at the airport back then.) I remember my father making a big deal about this experience, and all of us kids had to be on best behavior. (Reading my above comments now, I'm surprised I had any fun at all! :hilarious: ) Just kidding. ;) Back then I just sort of rolled with whatever rules were in place, and always had a fun time! :D

Hahaaa...!!!!! :hilarious:
Yep, airports and flyin' were a much bigger deal all those years ago...!!! :)
As I've posted before, any time we flew, from the mid 1960's to the early 1970's, I was always all decked out in my dress shoes, slacks, and shirt with a blue blazer and a clip-on tie...!!!!!;):)

Ha!!!

I took a few photos yesterday but didn’t even want to post them. I will now, you guys can see what I’m dealing with. :( It makes me so sad!! I literally feel disgusted sometimes when having my morning coffee on the deck.(Ignore T’s fallen down goal ;) )
Who knew that getting rid of trees would create an entirely new problem??? 😡

It’s hard to tell in the photos, but all of the brown spots are where the ridges and newly uneven ground is located, from the equipment they used on a WET YARD.

In one of the photos you can see a few sticks, I had to pick up so many!! They were supposed to clear and redo all of it! Instead they left branches that stuck out of the ground, and just threw seed over that. 🤦‍♀️

Texas must be in some sort of time warp. The first time I flew was on a College trip to Europe. That was in 1967. We took around 14 commercial flights during that two week period and I do not recall ever seeing any semi-formal dressed folks except the flight attendants. Before the introduction of jet airlines that was that way because only the wealthy were able to fly much back then. Fortunately that is one of the things that I am to young to remember. Both wealth and dressed to travel escaped my experiences. :)😉

They did not do a good job at all, did they? Can you call and complain to see if they will redo it at their cost. You shouldn’t have to pay for their mess.

Huge difference there. Have you tried complaining to the tree people?

I can’t remember if I posted it at the time, but I had told their office to not to do it that day because it was raining. They weren’t supposed to come, and then showed up anyway. Promised me it would be fine.

Obviously it wasn’t. I threw a fit. So, they came back and threw grass seed and hay. I spoke to the owner and asked him to come look at it. He said “You should have told them not to do it that day if you were concerned with your yard. We can fix it, we’ll give you a discount, but you wil have to pay for the leveling and grass services.”
I replied that I DID NOT WANT it done that day, and his workers said it would be alright.

Then, I told him to leave and that I will never recommend their services to anyone. This is a descent sized company who has been in service for over 40 years, and they were expensive!!! More than other companies, by quite a bit.

The only option I have is to pay them to redo the entire yard at a discounted price, or, hire someone else. I will hire someone else.

@21stamps you'd love it here almost every car has a football sticker or magnet on it.

Ha ha! Where are you?

Honestly I have no idea how much it is going to cost to level and sod my entire back and one side yard. It just makes me sick. I do not want to give that company 1 more penny, even if I would save money. It’s their fault in the first place... I can’t imagine paying them for their own mistakes.

Yeah, we're only allowed to drink when the company provides it, like at team building exercises after work and on days that they have the beer carts. I guess they figure one beer (or in my case "refresher" because I don't like beer) won't impeed anyone from working (you're only allowed one). So you can't go out to lunch and get drinks, but you can have it on beer cart days. And of course, the beer cart thing is only for office workers; those in the warehouses don't get it. They get the other events, though, like ice cream days and the snowball truck day.
There is one thing missing with the can of beer. You need popcorn.

My dad worked for a big utility with different locations. While the building location my dad worked at did have popcorn machine. My dad was the person who bought the replacement popcorn machine for the office.
