It was kinda rushed for us. As for the Saturn V. in my case ....you could get dropped there and stay in the SATURN V building as much as you wanted, then take another tram back.

I seen the astronaut lunch as well. But it was way later.
And I think the level 8 vip tours are the important ones.
But the guide told me there was one tour that cost more than 300 USD and it let you get DOWN INSIDE (very limited number with 6+ months to reserve in advance) on the training center to check first hand all the equipment and lasts 5+ hours.

What time of the day were y’all there in regards to closing hours on y’all’s particular visit...?
And yes, you can stay in either the main public exhibit building or the Saturn V building from open to close, if you like.
I still can’t find anything about the $300+ tour on their site...maybe it’s something you have to inquire about at guest services...?

Anyway, the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing is this Saturday, and I’m pretty excited for that...!!!!!!! :joyfull::happy:;):)

Great actor. My kids know him as Scully in Summer Rental.

Another favorite flick of mine from the 80’s...!!!!! :hilarious:
John Candy was awesome in it, as well...!!!!!
And, Rip Torn (the “actors” name will never cease to crack me up...!!!!!!! :hilarious:) was also “Patches O’Houlihan” in “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story”, as well as Zed in at least 2 “Men in Black” flicks...!!! :)
I know he had his issues, but, he seemed to be able to deliver for quite a while, even though.
May he RIP...........

News story was on ABC Nightly News (David Muir, anchor). And apparently, some other large cities are also hesitant about their own power grids in this very high head/humidity spell that will go on for a few days. (As a general precaution only, maybe don't buy too many perishable items until early next week.)

I was in Target this evening and they lowered their lighting and up'd the temp in their store. It was cool enough to be fine however I was at the end of one seasonal area and only every 4th light was lit. Not good.

Thanks for the heads up! I hadn’t heard this. Arggghh.

It better not happen on a workday like the one in 2003. At the time, I lived in the Bronx and I had to walk all the way from 50th Street in Manhattan to Fordham Road in the Bronx, which is almost 11 miles.

It also better not happen on the weekend, because we have tickets to The Lion King remake.

Basically, it just better not happen.

😜

My Dad in '67 Blizzard that shut down the city basically for over a week, it was nasty deep and cars littered the streets abandoned by drivers. My Dads train running from the Lake Front to the suburbs was not running. He walked home 30 miles through the snow, it took him 3 days and then had to shovel out our home. He aimed towards homes of people he knew to warm or crash for some sleep until he got home.

Today the morning was fine as we had a mega harsh thunderstorm with high winds strike before the multi day heat moved.

Left trees down and electrical wires. Feel badly for those impacted before the heat wave. As badly also for power and pubic works people. And so it begins. I’m on my deck and you know that feeling when your car heat is too hot blowing in your face? The yin yang of -30 below with windchill of -60 polar vortex. Face and skin freeze. Neither pretty.
