I feel like royalty in this Indonesian hotel. Our American dollars have such strong buying power in this country. We are in a hotel room suite that does truly have 2 enormous rooms just for us. I won't show photos of that but now I am down by the breakfast area....View attachment 387967View attachment 387968
Yet just across the street is the more local reality. This is a photo taken from my hotel room.20190709_103705_Film3.jpg

Wow! That is a stark difference. What is that? Apartments? Businesses? Are those all motorcycles?
I would not go there without my brother in law. NOT a good idea. Yet it seems to be business es with places to live above them. Regarding motorcycles, in Indonesia there is on any given highway 50% cars and 50% motorcycles...the motorcycles can be nice...or humble ...or in between. I will take photo or two of the highway that is just below my hotel room.20190709_110106_Film3.jpg20190709_110057_Film3.jpg

The parked cars are guests here at the hotel. The road is not busy now but when we checked in last night around 8pm it was bustling! Since it is summer always in Indonesia, the people like to be out at night when the temperatures are more comfortable. That being said, Singapore was hotter than here.😉

Indonesia has two seasons. Within the 12 months they have a daily high temperature between 80 and 97. The months during the USA's winter are rainy in Indonesia. The months during the American summer still get rain here....but not as often. Just a normal amount like NJ or PA, etc.

Kinda like motorcycles here state side. They are obviously cheaper and more economical but in the rain YIKES!!!

Hmpf. I guess every country includes ours have their rougher areas. That country seems to have gone through what we did several hundred years ago

My DD and I had an idea of fleeing IL for 4 days to escape our towns Summer Fling Festival. Enjoyed it years ago dread now like our Autumn Beer Hoopla that I always leave town for. What is it about beer in a keg that makes ordinary intelligent people loose their decorum? We discontinued Wine on the Vine which was more subdued.

I digress. I can stay at Bonnet Creek for $80 a night but the airfare is crazy even Midway SW. Ugh. I could lazy river a weekend away

I agree he looks nice maybe for a night on the town or golf at the club. He is a nice looking young man.

Maybe if everyone else was dressed more casual too like his wife in a sundress and his son in a pair of shorts instead of a gown but that isn't what I'm picking up on here even by his brother. Even the other mens coats are closed for the official family photo, it doesn't seem to be a semi casual suit event for the men or woman.

I did note that Princess Diana's sisters didn't arrive in casual dresses either. Maybe he took it down a few notches cause Queen Mum declined to attend?

OK, now that we have determined what we like to see in attire for the Royal family, does anyone know who (or possibly whom) the three ladies behind the love Seat, couch, divan or chesterfield might be?
