Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I looked on kayak and found for those dates and at POFQ for $222. I am guessing you would have to be diligent and look practically everyday for a special deal.

When we see them falling then yes, everyday and sometimes more. The few hours is part of the reason we can go more often 'cause you start knocking off $100 or more per night it is worthy of the few minutes a couple times a day to us anyhow. But that is me by nature, I am not cheap but I have always been frugal. If I can pay dramatically less for the same exact product I do so.

We have our long trip booked about half the rack rate at a Deluxe on property, coming in about the price of Pop. We have ressies for early winter just to have something locked in not knowing when Phase Two SW dates will be dropped. But in a heartbeat we will switch up resorts if we can get better for less. Fortunately we had ressies for our long trip before the announcement that SW 1.0 would drop. My DD is having a little rougher time with End of October/Early November as she will be heading down for a Challenge with her college roommate who likes to stay at Disney only resorts. But if that fails they will likely go with Swan/Dolphin or Bonnet Creek as they are afforded FP+ Me Bonnet is the nicer of those resorts but the yang of it is Swan/Dolphin are lovely resorts, great amenities and their food is far superior to most Disney owned resorts and generally less $$$ for like venues.

So it isn't work for us, it is like a game, the best place for the least amount. Kinda gets your adrenaline going.

The worst one I ever witnessed was at my daughters soft ball game, but, it wasn't anyone in the game. Right next to the field was a playground of sorts and a young girl was at the top of a very crowded slide. The kid behind her, hopefully accidentally, bumped her and she fell off the slide to the ground. She got up and held her arm out in pain and ran toward her parents. She was holding her arm straight out and it was in a 90 degree angle about 3 or 4 inches in front of her elbow. It hung straight down completely flaccid. I cringe just thinking about it. We lived in a relatively remote town at the time so they loaded her into the car and took her to the hospital an easy 8 miles away. She did get her arm fixed, but, there must have been a lot of hardware inside there to hold it together. I felt so sorry for her.

I’ve posted about this before, but, when we first moved here I split my calcaneus bone like a birds beak on the end of a diving board at the HoJo IBM put us up in ‘til we bought our house, that my folks still live in to this day.
My pop even gasped at how huge my foot swole up.
I’ll never forget the ER Orthopedist doc, with a lit cigarette danglin’ outta’ his mouth, sayin’ “In all my years, I’ve never seen nothin’ like this!”
So reassuring to a 13-year-old in excruciating pain...!!!!! :hilarious:
Anyway, they did what they could, and I’m no worse for the wear, other than a little, occasional, arthritis, even after all these many years later...!!! :)

Good point. I can honestly say I have never looked. And I am not sure why.

While my kids were growing up that is the only way we tried new Disney resorts. Deception. The Mom liked to try new things. Dad enjoyed the comfort of familiar. That is where being the one that does all the prep could wiggle around that.

Went back to where our first home was today. They have an awesome Art Fair each year. Then we stopped in at an Irish Pub & restaurant.

Good food as always. Brown gravy could rival mine.

One Pot Roast sandwich with fried green beans. Pot Roast sliders with garlic Mashed Potatoes. Only Pepsi. Too early for Pub spirits

Now off to dinner. Doubt I will catch up missing most of the week. Opps
Looks great!! I had fried green beans once and they were so good! I thought it sounded like such an odd thing to batter and fry, but they were great.

Was there another vegetable other then potato in the ingredients? Here they have veggie fries made from broccoli and potato, veggie tots made from cauliflower and potato.
Oh, no these didn't have potato in them. It was onions, carrots, and I'm not sure what. That's why it was so amusing. As though potatos were not vegan-friendly. It was like "Finally, vegans can have fries, too!" It didn't say that, but they don't have "vegan" stamped on any of their other types of fries.

Well, we are here in Marathon!

After setting up the record show at 7am, digging a 1 foot ditch around the house for the termite tent, taking houseguests (who were arguing, BTW - awkwaaaard!) to the airport, dropping my car off for service, and then a 2.5 hour drive...

We were passed out by 9:30.

Only one nighttime pic:

Two queens for two queens. 🤣

Kylie was pacing around 3:30am, so she and I went out exploring.

Now I’m up.

I think it was the large, bright floral print on the bedspread that unnerved Kylie. :p You know how dogs don't like change. :hilarious:

P.S.: Enjoy your time in the Keys. I've been down as far as Islamorada. It's beautiful down there (at least it was about 18 years ago, when I went. A former boss/company I worked for had a gorgeous house, and I got to stay there for a few days during a vacation to Florida.)

Out dear lil’ Emy at her first reunion :inlove::happy:, and some random pics, including our famous family strudel recipe for some dessert...!!!!! :hungry:

That was quite a big plate of food for Emy! ;) I'm drooling over the chicken and sausage from the barbecue. :hungry:

Wow, that's a lot of people!

As I was looking through his photos, (with all the long tables set up and tons of people) -- it reminded me of the size of a Red Cross auditorium shelter, during a storm. I mean, his "family" is the size of a whole town!!! :jawdrop: :joyfull:

So do you use Kayak to find the better rates?
