Mission one complete, come up with a light but different dish. Thai veggie salad with cucumber noodles with an almond ginger lime dressing View attachment 377661. The best part is it's a a chop veggie, put dressing ingredients in blender and toss in large bowl item. I'll top it with delivered spring onions
That sounds yummy. I made one dressing recipe today from the How Not to Die cookbook. It was a sesame ginger dressing for cole slaw. I put it on quinoa and greens instead. It was good, but what you have there sounds better.

Is it just you or are you going with one of your kids and their family?
No, my sister is flying into Raleigh to visit with the family and we decided to go to Florida since it is only a day road trip down and another back. She and I toured Europe at the end of 2015. She is also divorced with a grown married son, so when she can't find anyone fun to go with asks me if I will go with her. We both possess a highly sarcastic, caustic wit. 😉

You should have heard the comments that we were making about some of our fellow passengers on our Atlantic Cruise. Also, at a wine tasting stop in Tuscany. Pretentious thy name is wine connoisseur. Oh, the stories I could tell about that one.

That looks so good! And sounds healthy. I am running out of good recipes, as I am trying to get myself in shape for clothes that won’t kill me in the Florida heat, haha.

To be fair, I don't think it's just service dogs that you should ask for permission to pet. It's ANY animal. You wouldn't want strangers coming up and just grabbing your baby out of the stroller to hold....same applies for animals. And some dogs do not like to be petted or are not used to children, who can be unpredictable and grab ears or tail, etc. So you should ALWAYS ask the owner of any animal if it's ok to pet them. Most people say sure, but there have been occassional people who have said better not. DS won't go near enough to most dogs to pet them anyway, but there is one mom at DS's school who just adopted a dog from Germany. I guess the dog was rescued as a stray in Russia and is super submissive, and she is so...just still and quiet and doesn't jump or bark. DS is ok with approaching her slowly and giving her a pat. That's the extent of it, but he will pet her where he won't go near another dog. But we always ask first if it's ok.
When kids would run up to Walter I’d move him by his lead behind me. I’d told them then need to have their parent tell me it was OK.
Then I’d have a moment to tell him to lay down. I’d always ask them to only pet his back so he didn’t get accidentally poke in eye, nose mouth or ear.

Me I always ask. What bothers me more is people with expanding thread leads that let their dogs run up to dogs they aren’t familiar with. No direct control until the get reeled back in. My dogs have always been on a leather leash with only a few feet of room to wander. I always had 100% control and all my dogs went about 100#.

Courtesy goes a long way always.

Well she hadn’t eaten since we came back from the kennel and that was not like her. She is a little overweight and loves to eat so.... She also had a yucky odor. She does have arthritis and is 9, so I was worried. She cannot go up and down stairs anymore either. The vet said it can be normal for dogs to not be themselves after coming home from a kennel. She had lost 2 pounds which for her is a good thing. She has a skin problem which is why she stinks. So she is now on an anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic. She goes back in a week for a follow-up.

She was not happy in the kennel and it shook her up. Something that animals do is stop eating if they're really stressed out. I suspect your dog will be back to normal in another day or so.

Epcot is my favorite park is amazing....always if Disney doesn't ruin it. Which yes, there is hardly any rides but I like the countries. I didn't do Frozen, Nemo or Test Track. I did the Orange side of Space for the first time in a few years and loved it. My favorite ride is Living with the Land. We rode at night as well, which was kinda freaky. I loved the Moroccan standing lights but they were $65 so I'll pass for now. My favorite drink was still great, Orange Grand Marnier. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the schoolbread shrunk a little in size. You couldn't taste the cardamon that much either. However, it was Norway's Independence Day and a lot of hot Norwegians running around. The festival was good, flowers and the topiaries. The booths were okay, I didn't get as much I as used to.

Best moment was when I was walking through the shop in England and someone told a cast member that they liked the round light chandelier and how much would it be to buy that :hilarious:

Dinner was at Ale and Compass - took over Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. Seafood pot pie was great. They go a bit overboard on the pie aspect. Epcot also had a special day for DVC members which we got one free fast food meal (I got Shrimp Noodles at the Seasons), fireworks and free Mickey bar (I passed to the being full). The fireworks were amazing. Think of a blinding white light at the grand finale. Smoke was everywhere from it including all the way to the front of the park. Only a 30 min wait during the night for Soarin.

Disney Springs was not that crowded when I went. It was amazing to see space in the main Disney store. Still not a big fan but I don't really care to shop. Had the Shrimp Mac and Cheese at the Boathouse with the best seasoning ever (Gibson's Seasoning). The restaurant seems to have more employees than they know what to do with. I wanted the Mac and Cheese at the food truck but things didn't work out.

Overall it was a good trip. Disney lacked in some painting of the walls. People said some of the bathrooms (esp in the MK) were in terrible shape but you can't expect Disney to keep up with the madness and why can't people clean up after themselves. I believe I am done for no MGM this year and I'm probably not going to Disney next year. Maybe, I'll go to Norway. I'm just a sucker for accents. German. Brits. Irish. Norway.

Hey everyone, hope you don't mind joining in! I'm Anna!
I've already profited from joining this site, because I just read about you guys getting your licenses to take on trips....
and it made me check my documents, and I realzed BOTH my ID and passport expired in March. YIKES!!!
I cannot believe I FORGOT to check on this sooner. I just got myself an appointment at city hall to get them renewed. A few weeks later and I would have been cutting it close to get them done ion time before my WDW trip in September!
So: THANK YOU!!! 🥰
Welcome to the boards.
