Actually in addition to the cafe, it does have a small grocery section on the way out to pick up swedish foods like a bag of their meatballs, and lingon berry jam. There's lots of other items too. And a wall of swedish candy and cookies. :hungry:

They have a nice cafe and bakery where they serve Swedish type food. The prices are super reasonable. They also sell packaged foods that you can take home.

Never been to an IKEA, even though there's one here in the state for at least the past 10 years or so. It's not really close by, so I don't go. It does sound like an interesting store, but we're not in the market for furniture. It's nice that they have a cafe and some food to go, in case you've been shopping in there for a few hours.

Holy carp, June 24th...?!?!?!
That sounds like about half the summer up y’all’s way...!!!!!

No problem for kiddos down here, as our summer tends to stretch into October, and they never have any snow/ice days, but, woof that sounds like no fun, at all...!!! :(

When I was a kid, we always got out in mid to late June for summer vacation. It's not unusual up here. (P.S.: I think my parents were glad when we were all back at school. after Labor Day in September! :p

Short ketchup, y'all were quiet today. I was out all afternoon as several of us at work volunteer via the red cross for the Sound the Alarm campaign. (free smoke detectors installed for anyone who needs them) YOU get a smoke detector, and YOU get a smoke detector!

We weren't far from home, so I texted hubby and told him if one of my co-workers showed up, to let them in, we could use new smoke detectors!

What an amazing program that is. Never heard of it before. That's great that you and a bunch of your colleagues volunteered for that. You may be instrumental in saving one or more lives some day.

Wow. That's a surprise. Interesting to note how different angles in photos, can shape one's perception of size.
Indeed, I had a discussion with my sister who insisted the Royal Princess was bigger than the Allure of the Seas.. but it was an illusion. Because the biggest spot of the Princess ship was in the back (when docked in St. Maarten). And looking at the skewed angle, it looked bigger than the Allure, which was in one of the farthest docks and its tallest point is near the center (the suite , suite lounge and buffet section).

I think I had talked about this point before.
The Royal is 66m tall...
The Allure is 72...

The angle of the photo and the difference in design makes the difference.

At the beginning of this week, a cockroach scared my boss at work and she screeches through the cubicles and gets someone to kill it.

I laughed.

But just now had one crawl on my head while I was sleeping waking me up after realizing I felt movement....

I didn't laugh.

And I will probably never laugh at someone screaming at a cockroach's present again. I know what they sound like because the dude was right next to me ear...

I am probably never going back to bed.

We've been seeing centerpedes the past week or two. Those things freak me out. I think it's because of all the rain we've had up here over the past 2 months -- all the crawlies are coming out!!! :jawdrop:

I am probably never going back to bed.

I woke up once with a giant one on my arm when I lived in Georgia... ugh it took me forever to sleep again!

We don't go for the furniture. Once in a while, we have a need for a large picture frame, or a new lamp, etc and then we go to IKEA. And we're lucky as the nearest one is right between my in-laws' town and ours, right near DH's work, so once in a while he'll stop by and pick up a bag of meatballs.

Agreed, we go for lamps, kitchen supplies, 3pk of scissors (we are FOREVER losing scissors), to get a tasty lunch, and to get some candy and cookies. We buypass all the furniture section.
