Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
We were at MK at 6:45 on Christmas Morning and the park was near empty for a couple hours. It was really peaceful, on a day we were told would be the WORST. Some things are worth waking up for.

Of course I'm up at either 4 or 5 every weekday anyway, LOL

I can either sleep in or get up early but it does make a difference in how late I will stay out in the parks on our long trips. Short trips we pretty much open and close. On our Flower and Garden Trip we were fortunate to snag AP extra hours at the MK. 11pm till 1am. I think we made it till 12:30 am We had opened Epcot that morning from the back a we were at the Swan and we went back to the Swan for several hours for swimming as their main pool is awesome. We took a bus around 7pm to the MK and I got on a boat to the Poly to meet up with some members for drinks at Trader Sams a few hours later met back up with family for AP night at MK. Long Day. But so much fun.

No, but I don't think they'd work on FoP for me. I think it's an inner ear thing in my case. I can't even enjoy the ride because it makes me dizzy from the start. Hence I don't even want to ride it. The more intense version of Mission Space triggers migraines in me for some reason. I also don't like the pressure on my chest; it's basically what it feels like to have an asthma attack, except you also can't breathe during an attack. Which is fine because I can still do the less intense version and then I usually just go chill for a while while the rest of my group does it.

The only ride in WDW that makes me flat out nauseated is Astro Orbitor. My mom can't do that one either, so we usually snack while the guys ride it.

I can't say I enjoy fast spinny rides either. It has been years and a decade or two since I rode Tea Cups or Astro Orbitor. I can will myself to endure but old enough to just say Nope. I rode them when my kids were little and I HAD to. I'm fine with letting them go.

And I won't touch any of those. Well, to be fair, I hate pineapple anyway...one of the few fruits I WON'T eat. But even if I did, I wouldn't eat it with ham. I don't do cranberry sauce with Thanksgiving dinner....no one in my family will touch it. Apple sauce is only a side dish for me, and I put it in a bowl, not on my plate, so it can't fraternize with anything else.

You make me smile!!! 🌞

I only get paid for 10 months. I have no income in July and August. In June we receive our last pay on the final day of school. Then the next pay is not until Sept. 10th.
We don't get paid in July or August either. Our last check is June 30.

In our school district and the one my Mom taught in it was an optional thing. The salary for the year is what it is. The Professional and Support Staff both had the choice to spread that salary over 10 months or 12 months.

In my sil’s district they don’t have the option of spreading out payments through 12 months. Her salary gets distributed evenly over 10 months. I know she would rather get paid every month though. She needs to always remember to save money every month to cover the summer months.

Most jobs I've had pay twice monthly. My present job pays weekly--gives me something to look forward to -- money every Friday!! :joyfull: (Oh, I'm not a teacher -- I realize their pay is distributed differently from other professions.)

That's convenient.
My district is not so flexible.
Oh well.....it's fine though.
We just set money aside gradually for 10 months and then live off our savings in July and August.

Over 4,000?! I'm not sure I'd want to be on a floating tub with 4,000 people. (At least with crowds at WDW, you can always walk away and come back later on.)

Although the ship would be very impressive to see, I wouldn't have any desire to be a guest on it.
31st May we will have two in
One with 2670
One with 4324

Will do my best to get photos.
