I shudder to think how much food you go through in a week...
Let's see last weekend my shopping list started with 15 heads of lettuce, 3 heads celery, 5 cucumbers, 10 pounds of carrots, spring mix, 10 pounds of frozen spinach, 2 bags of onions, 10 pounds of rice, 3 bags of quinoa, 2 chickens, 3 dozen eggs, 4 boxes of grape tomatoes, 8 pounds of dry beans, a bag of apples, 2 loaves of bread, 2 bags of bagels, etc...….........…... Would you like to hear the full list?

No on the food bills. I bought a lot of what you did, except divide the amounts by 3. The only thing we bought more of was apples. We do 3 bags a week. Can I say that I am so happy Walmart has their own brand of brown rice/quinoa pasta.

I would also like to see the meal plan. ;)
Let's see since Saturday I've made corned beef with potatoes, carrots, cabbage and soda bread, beans and greens with tomatoes(every week a big pot with different spices), 2lbs pasta with tomatoes and tuna, 6qts braised tofu and mushrooms in veggie stock, rice and beans with veggies, an eggs and greens fritta, enough salad for a small army and a rice cooker full of quinoa. I'd better not have to cook until Friday. I know I will but................................ aren't you glad you asked?

No on swapping food bills
Yes on glad we asked!!!

So you cook at the beginning of the week and the family just helps themselves to whatever is prepared that they feel like eating, or did you cook certain things for certain days?

I usually have one "big" cooking day a week and I gave up trying to do this food on that day since James is home all day and my dh has always had some what of a screwy schedule. I packed up 4 containers of quinoa and the mushroom/tofu dish for dh's lunches so there is that already taken care of. Speaking of food James is eating again:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Most nights the boys and I have dinner together

Right now all A wants for dinner are grilled cheese sandwiches. Girl won't eat cheese, hates cheese, but you put it between some bread and she's all about it.
