Have they even STARTED building the Star Wars hotel? I'm pretty sure it won't be open when Galaxy's Edge opens this fall. But I thought they gave a price guide a while ago and there's a hefty price tag attached because it's an immersive experience where you are supposed to dress in character, and it's not a resort like the other resorts where you leave for the day to visit the parks. It's like....a 3 day experience with everything included, but you stay in the hotel the whole day. I want to say it was something like $2500 per person for a 3 day experience? I'll see if I can find the place where it talked about prices.
From what I've heard, think Disney Cruise Ship pricing:greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy: Not even if I hit the lottery and that's coming from somebody who has their eye on a place in Dr Phillips with a boat dock

I can't find it, but if you google it, it just says around $1000 per person for a 2 night all inclusive experience. Another website said they "expect" it to be well over $1000 per night. So apparently nothing official, but considering that it includes meals and such and is completely immersive, I'm guessing it will be quite pricey. I personally would expect them to have different experiences to choose from, at different price points. I'm sure some people will want a budget experience just to say they did it, where some fanatics will want the complete package, even if they have to pay several thousand for it. I'm guessing it will be just like any other thing in Disney....you pick the one that matches your budget. You have your values, and you have your moderates, and your deluxes, and even within those categories, there are different price points. But that's just my guess and I could be totally off base.

Thank you for checking!!

Well, to be fair, how much time does he have to watch TV with all the trainings, scouts, church, school, homework, etc? You guys always seem to be on the go...maybe he won't have time to miss it?

My Mom just got a phone and discovered texting :banghead::banghead: She texts me all the time now. She’s 76.

Bluck! Years ago when modern tech was AIM my Mom stalled me for when I was online on the computer. Truly I’d be checking my appointments and emails and up would Pop Hi Gabe. What are you doing? What are you doing? How are the kids? Ultimately I blocked my own Mother. Felt bad but it had to be done.

I've never been into the princess movies either, but A really truly is. She lives and breathes Disney princesses. I think they're doing a really good job turning the stereotype around. Not just with Moana and Elsa, either, but with Sofia the first and Elena of Avalor, and Vampirina.

To me it would be a shame to alter classic movies to fit current cultural climate. Beyond Disney, The Little Mermaid was written in a time when 16 was not a "child bride" and that's an important piece of context around the story. Our lives got longer so the age in which we marry is later.

IMO lots of Novels do not follow the story line exactly when it is turned into a film. Just not Disney. Often Movies are guided by the Novels but not exact. Altering a age from 16 year old Child to a young adult I wish Disney took that Liberty.

I have no idea what Disney films Sophia, Elena, Avalon or Vamperine we’re Princesses in. Never heard of any of any of them.

My Mom will ask or tell me something then leave me hanging 🙄She just disappears! :hilarious:
Then I’m like well - you’re welcome?

My Mom calls me from her cell and asks me a question then turns off the phone and returns it to her purse. Doesn’t want to ‘waste’ battery.🤦

Then later calls from land line. “You didn’t answer my question. I left a message “

Oy to the vey

We quit Scouts a few months ago.. One less thing on my plate!

He does have a little more time for tv during the colder months. He’s allowed a show after dinner while I clean up and pack lunch, or sometimes later in the evening before bed, and on weekends has a little more time, usually a movie on Friday nights.
For example though, today he won’t watch tv anyway. We went for a haircut, did homework, now he’s on a half hour of the Switch before getting ready for baseball (we’re skipping soccer tonight due to the conflict).

I love lots of Disney movies but I've never been a big fan of Princess movies and I say that with a broad brush, I don't hate them but I find most of them hard boiled. Your Mom is Dead, there are usually Daddy issues and a Dude somehow rescues you and you are married. The End. Most Princess movies run that same Harlequin romance type of story line. Give me Monsters Inc or Toy Story any day.

And yep, I surprised they didn't alter the Mermaid's age to a more realistic modern time acceptable age, could have easily inserted her just finishing school or something into the storyline for her not to be a child bride in this era.
I guess 20 years ago when the Little Mermaid was released it wasn't until issue like it is today.

Is there a reason your dad uses the wand instead of the regular vacuum? Does he not realize he CAN use the main part?
I have no idea. He definitely knows it works. It is a total mystery to me. He says it's because it gets into the "grooves" better. As in the grating in the kitchen floor. We've told him if he feels that way to use the canister vacuum. Nope...

I think part of it is sheer stubbornness. As in, he decided to do it that way so he's going to do it that way, even if another way works better. Same reason it took me ages to get him to stop using Internet Explorer. Or when he was using Microsoft Money 2000 in 2015 (in spite of there being an updated free version) and it crashed and he lost all of his files, I didn't feel too terrible.

We seem to be in close to the same situation. I see what my Sis isn't seeing but it is there if you look. This weekend was kinda an eye opener on two levels for my Sis. One, she went to see a new Doc a young man for a Doc anyhow (her lady Doc just disappeared she had for years and I wasn't a fan, so this is good news) Their first visit he was checking her cognitive abilities and she still has her long term but her short term is marginal. She still lives alone in her house, pays the bills, cleans up home and herself so that is good but she gets into mischief. Like one day she decided to be a plumber and try and replace a pipe. Trust me, my Mom doesn't and never did have a single mechanical skill. She doesn't venture far from house in her car (woot!) doesn't cook anymore, thankful because the last few times the end results of her cooking is nasty. Loosing expensive eyeglasses and believing someone took them. She is starting to make up stories and confusing facts. Also loosing her filter both around us and out in public and her temperament is getting short.

I wanted her to move into a condo, no snow, grass to deal with or trees leaves. An older home needs various repairs and she doesn't say anything until something goes wrong like when she tried to remove part of the bathtub faucet to 'fix' the stopper lever, it wouldn't budge so she used a sledge hammer!!!! Porcelain Tub. She isn't ready for assisted living quite yet but in a good facility she might be happier. My Dad passed 2.5 years ago and the things I was already seeing have just multiplied in a few years pretty quickly.
I'm really happy we insisted my mother moved to were she is now, it's a 1 bedroom apartment in a seniors complex with assistance for the residents if needed. Luckily my mum gave up driving years ago as it wouldn't be safe for her to do now, she also doesn't cook any more since moving as you can't work her induction stove, even with printed instructions on the board in the kitchen.
My sister deals with all her post and I do her banking online so my mother doesn't have the stress of bills etc.
My mother used to be very good at fixing things, when my sister bought her first home and couldn't afford a contractor my mother not only rewired the whole apartment but also installed her kitchen and bathroom. She can still do little jobs around her home but doesn't have the physical strength for anything heavy and she tires easily. I also notice the lack of filter, it can be funny sometimes but often it makes me cringe. I just miss my old mum and feel guilty I'm not there enough for her.
