Also, speaking of garbage men....... I could use some advice.....

I started purging back in October. Like a deep purge. All the broken and discarded crap left behind by my ex, plus the stuff I no longer want in my house that doesn't serve a purpose. Including the garage, which was so filled with junk that I couldn't park in it and now has room for two cars! Anything that wasn't donateable went in the trash and recycle. My curb has looked like the Clampett's lived there every week for the past couple months. I keep thinking this will be the day that the garbagemen get angry and break/toss my cans because they're sick of me, but they haven't. They've placed them upside down and orderly back on the curb. They've taken every oversized thing I've put out there, too, instead of just telling me to schedule a bulk pickup.

I don't deserve them. I'm so incredibly grateful for them. And I'd like to thank them. How does one go about thanking garbage collectors? I thought about leaving them something, but then wasn't sure if they'd assume it was trash.
We have a private company collect our garbage. If you do as well, I would call them up and let them know how grateful you are to the garbage men that come by your house.

I would leave a note for them with whatever you leave....me being me, I'd bake them something, but not everyone loves to bake. But I'd at LEAST leave them a note, and maybe contact the city to let them know how awesome your garbage collectors are. I don't know if they can get in trouble for taking oversized things, so you might not want to go into detail, but just tell them how much you appreciate them, etc. And especially in this cold. If you are home when they come by, maybe ask if they'd like some coffee or something warm to drink?

Right...?!!!!! :eek::hilarious:
I had to do a double take...!!!!! o_O
I always thought (at least in Texas anyway) that a car between 25-50 yrs. old was a considered a "classic" and anything beyond 50 yrs. old was considered an "antique". But, the Texas DMV says this... :cyclops:

Per state regulations, TX antique car tags are assigned to vehicles that are at least 25 years old, are collector’s items and are used for parades, exhibitions and other public events.
