With the holidays fast approaching I miss @MOXOMUMD even more.![]()
Oh my God, what is that? And where can I have some? Even though I am totally not entitled.
I think an activity can be a good way to teach kids about discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship....all important lessons, but the key is to balance it with everything else. My son plays chess...he started with soccer, but he wasn't very good at it and the coaches were so focused on winning that DS never got to play and he was constantly the scapegoat during practices....the coaches would literally set him up for failure to make him run, probably in the hope of motivating him to improve. But the kid just doesn't have the motorskills and coordination for sports that involve a ball. (we're starting physical therapy again in a couple of weeks to work on the motorskills) He came home in tears every time. So we switched to chess. My unpopular opinion is too much emphasis on sports with kids at a young age is not a good idea. I guess I'm just old school.. I just want kids to be able to be kids without having so much stress and pressure of try outs, and making the team. My co-worker and I disagree on this.. she was just talking today about her daughter and the freshman volleyball team and how they are playing over the Holidays.. and that if they go away on vacation with family, their play time gets cut... it's all just TOO MUCH. (at least for me it is!)

Fine you can come here and feed the troops while I run away to FloridaVery nice!![]()
Congrats and sympathy like for not being able to go. Please tell me this is the one that will pay for a Disney trip the Philmonster can't complain about!!! ps how did you make out with the storm?Totally shameless plug department again. Sorry guys and gals, but I'm having a bit of a good year as far as my shows getting produced. this doesn't happen often.
All of a sudden, my play THE CRUMPLE ZONE, which was a big off-Broadway hit in the summer of 2000 with Mario Cantone, is playing in Phoenix, Arizona, and they seem to like it a lot.

If anyone happens to be in Phoenix, Arizona and wants to see a play that takes place at Christmas and is about the breakup of a long term relationship, and it's a comedy (!!!), let me know, because I have access to my author comps, which I am unable to use.
MEDS!Very nice!![]()
Stay safe and I hope your power stay on.Ours has changed to sleet.
Sympathy likeI hope all of you with bad weather are staying safe. I took advantage of our good weather today in your honor. It was around 44 here and felt very mild so the dog and I took a nice long walk. Don't worry I'm not bragging, I also knew that my weather situation will change in about 24 hours. We have snow on the way, with some possible ice of course. I'm glad it is happening on the weekend we don't have to go anywhere special.
^^^^This. The nice people who have the coats with the extra long sleeves should pay her a visitThis woman is seriously in need of an intervention.![]()
Don't be surprised to find a person in your luggageOn this side of the lake it's been snowing a bit today..the roads are pretty slick, but I saw the plows out, so the roads should be good in the morning. Just so I can get out of here Saturday morning..... FLORIDA is waiting for me!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Have a backup but don't worry it's not even Thanksgiving yet.So, someone on the DFB site responded about the dining plan. They made ADRs for feb/march at Via Napoli and Teppan Edo and received confirmation, in which it stated they do not accept the dining plan So she contacted Disney to ask about it, and they sent her a list of restaurants that accept the dining plan, and there were only 3 restaurants in the WS that do. So I definitely need to make some contingency plans in case that doesn't change. Just in case any of you are planning a trip and using the dining plan, double check your ADRs.
Sorry. It's not as if I'm not trying. I'm sending the boys out at sunrise to try and push the carp your way!
Yeah, and like I said, I'm not REAL worried about most of it. Most of the things we were planning are still on the list. Via Napoli we were already planning on doing out of pocket, Teppan Edo was more to fill a credit, but I'm not opposed to doing both a Garden Grill breakfast AND a Garden Grill dinner if Teppan Edo doesn't work out. Especially with my previous Hibachi Grill experience that makes me nervous for Teppan Edo. And then Homecomin' is the only other one that isn't on the list so far, and I'll just pay out of pocket for it if I have to. The advantage of Homecomin' is that it's not in a park, so we could conceivably do that one on our non-Disney part of the trip...we don't need tickets to get to it. So I have contingency plans in place...we'll just see how it works out.Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Have a backup but don't worry it's not even Thanksgiving yet.
