I think I mentioned that the daughter of one of my high school classmates is going to do the college program at Disney, starting in January. So the classmate posted a funny video of a parent racing through Disney, basically looking like he'd rather be anywhere but there....no, we're not spending $45 on mickey ears, no, we're not standing in line for 3 hours for a Toy Story ride, etc. So this classmate tags the daughter saying "This will probably be your dad and I when we come visit you!" And I asked when they were planning to visit and told her if she has any questions, I can probably get answers. She says she doesn't know when they are going, but her grandma lives a couple hours from Disney, so they could go see her and take a few days at Disney, and then one of her in-laws posts that they went last February in the off season and had to wait 1.5 hours for Pirates of the Caribbean and she'd be happy to never set foot there again. I'm thinking someone didn't know about fastpasses!!

1.5 hours for Pirates? My guess is their off season dates fell during President’s weekend.

Anyone know what happened to fall? Currently 65 in Disney World, and 28 here. Potential high of 46 here, and 81 in Disney. Time to find my long johns.

OMG I LOVE lobster...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The soup was awesome!! (We gave the dog a little bit, too. He loved it. Actually, Jack seems to like fish more than meat, if given the choice. But that's a moot point I suppose, as he'll attempt to abscond with any food at all on the table, that we don't guard!! )

Went south of metro Chicago today but not quite to Central Illinois. Festivals of rural Christmas Craft Fairs. The Fairs where they are made by creative types not Professional crafts or people selling Tupperware or Avon type wares.

And Hot Cider is yummy.

One of my best craft fairs was one where most people sold Avon, Tupperwear and such but yup hate going to those

That sounds like fun. I like the mom and pop, nonprofessional fairs like that. You can get some really nice stuff for reasonable prices. (Many of the smaller vendors can't afford the big table prices at the professional fairs.)

I agree. They hammed up Johnny Depp's character too much. Some of his performance felt forced and didn't flow. The makeup was overdone, too.

I'd take an Errol Flynn movie any day over any of the Pirates movies.

The veggies were what I had on hand today. Celery make a decent substitute for bok choi etc. Daikon is a long white radish used in oriental cooking, regular ones can also be used if need be. I put pepper strips in when they're in season and I toss bean spouts in at the end if I have them.

I am at a conscience store in SC taking a rest. We are about 90 miles from our NC hotel for the night.

We left the house at 9 to go to Target to pick up a birthday present for a party youngest went to today. I had on 2 long sleeve shirts, a fleece pullover, and a winter parka. It was cold.

envy.. I love lobster bisque. Sadly not many know how to make it correctly.

Most bisques of generic restaurants have the tendency of using not only meat, but also the innards, brains, etc.. of the lobster to "make it more loaded and to have more product with less costs". and it ends tasting bad.

Agree. The bisque that I bought was from a seafood restaurant that sells their bisque to grocery stores. I'm picky about bisque.

I was just telling dh a couple of hours ago that I wish we had clear glass bowls and plates.

The bowls were accumulated over quite a few Black Fridays. Every year Target and Walmart seem to have had a Pyrex set on sale.

Trying to work out a mini trip like I attended in 2008 for a memorable Mousefest trip in 2008, The final Mousefest a decade later. So hard to believe it was a decade ago. Great memories of that trip with so many awesome people, memories that will never fade or be forgotten, priceless memories. Now if I can back to back trips in short order??? Send Pixie Dust. Old friends trying to reunite and rekindle old times and memories. Woot! Hoping for stars to align.
