Oh wow, I'm jealous. I want to work where you do!!

They started this several years back evidently, where we don't get all the little holidays off (for instance we don't get Black Friday off, although I'm most likely taking off anyway) and we instead get that week. So we get Memorial day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and then that week as our holiday period (so no Easter or President's Day).

They actually approved an extra day this year due to good earnings. Normally we only would get six days and we got seven this year.

I'm going to try and get as much cooking as I can done today. So far the Japanese pork stew, the holey moley soup, turkey soup and corn bread are well on their way

We're having lobster soup tonight. The store cooked lobsters today and cut them up in containers of 3/4 pound up to a pound. So I bought a container and I also bought 2 (cup size) containers of lobster bisque. I'm going to heat up the bisque tonight, and put in the lobster.

Yep, I hafta’ be honest, I’ve never even heard of that before, not even in our commercial department.
Generally, we are pretty good at estimating costs based on current prices depending on trim package, but, most builders are involved early enough to take care of the brunt of that.
Learn somethin’ new every day, I do...!!!!!

Wish me luck. My father inlaw won't be able to get to our house for Thanksgiving. He's doing well but with his treatments car rides aren't fun. It should be interesting to figure out the logistics for what I have to cook and bring. My mother inlaw is doing the turkey but I have to do all the gf/df sides and pies.
