I still remember in Junior year of high school, my cell phone went off in the middle of AP English. I fully expected to have it taken away and got myself in a mini panic attack. Instead, my teacher went, "Cool ringtone." And continued teaching.
Didn't have that to worry about when I was in high school. No cell phones, no ringtone! We used to have to be more creative to get into trouble. We had a very crowded high school so our study halls were held in the school auditorium. We used to sit in the back and fling penny's up to the ceiling in the front. It made a massive amount of noise and by the time it actually hit up there, we were all sitting very angelic like studying very intensely. Then the study hall teacher/monitor happened to look up just as we were in the process of letting a round of penny's go. They didn't have much of a sense of humor. There were 7 of us caught in full throw and all but myself were expelled for a week. I had managed to escape detection in the past so they just gave me a warning and the others were accused of being a bad influence. The number of things I got away with was almost criminal. I never did anything the harmed others, just mischief type things.

@dryerlintfan , what costume has A selected for trick or treat this year? (I recall last year when she was giving you a play by play of the furniture, etc., that people had inside their houses!) :joyfull:

She wanted to be Aurororororora :hilarious::hilarious: She was really excited about a new dress that I bought her. I'll jump on my phone in a couple minutes and post up some pictures.

She was very candy focused this year. We only made it a couple blocks before she wanted to get back home so she could eat her candy :hilarious::hilarious: She didn't seem to realize if she went to more houses she'd have more candy.

Against our dress code. Sadly. Wish it weren't; it was hot this summer ...

They just started letting us wear jeans to work this year; I hope no one ruins it for those of us dressed appropriately.

Schools and businesses are really backing off dress codes, it is ultimately a no win for them. And so many codes are discriminatory. Men must have their legs covered, women can show their legs but not their shoulders. So no shorts for guys but women can wear capri's. Business Casual and Casual mean very different things to each person because of their own ideas of casual and inconsistent between HR departments across the country. But the techies are driving casual and often prejudge the dude that shows up in a Suit for a meeting. We've all heard the saying the 'suits' are here.

Schools have the same problem with their staff and students. No professional educator wants to have that conversation with students or administration with teachers about bra straps, too thin of shoulder straps etc. Just easier to not get their shorts in a knot over anyone discussing proper coverage of a man or woman along with students in general. It is just too hard to write a HR code too that doesn't labor over the longer list aimed at female students/female employees.

Casual attire has come a long way before you were even born. As a child I was required to be in a dress for school. Seriously why? Girls had to wear dress shoes, boys not. In elementary school PE classes were in school clothes and girls trying to participate in sports in dresses. I was so happy when the laws were deemed discriminatory and we could wear pants and shorts to school like the boys did. It gets cold up here in the winter. So I refuse to accept the notion that is all the millennial fault about attire being casual. That started with the baby boomers and burn your bra pageant era not the millennial's. Boomers were the anti establishment era and then bikini's became popular and guys in Speedo's fell out of favor. Clothing in my era has just steadily become more and more casual but it is nothing new.
