He was soooo surprised!!! I picked him up front school.. everything in the trunk.. said he had to run an errand with me. Pulled up to GWL and he said “Are we going here?”
“No, T, I have to meet a client to sign a paper, that’s why we stopped at Starbucks, you eat while she comes out.”
“Oh, ok. Yeah I can’t swim in my uniform anyway.”

I get out.. I sneak to the trunk, call for him to walk back- “T, can you carry this?”
“Wait, what?”
“We’re staying here.”
“No way. Really? Are you playing a trick on me? Where’s your client?”
“Yes, really. I did trick you, there’s no client. Only us checkin in to Great Wolf Lodge.”

“Oh my gosh. OH. MY. GOSH. This is EPICC!!”
(And does a leaping hug, almost knocking me over) 🤣❤️

I must be the only one that wants nothing to do with any of my parents rings. I do however have dibs on the moms' crosses

Everyone's different about this -- one of those no right or no wrong answers.

When my mother passed away, we made sure that her wedding ring was on her finger, when she was laid to her final rest. We all felt strongly that a wedding ring that meant so much to her. and that she wore for most of her adult life, belonged with her forever.

I got most of my mom's jewelry, but she liked really big rings and that's pretty opposite to my taste. My mom had a couple of Black Hills Gold rings with huge settings....one onyx and one jade, that she wore all the time. This is what her rings looked like.

I don't like big rings. I got one and my brother got the other, I think, but I never wear it. DD got my dad's mother's amethyst ring....very simple, but pretty, and she wears it most of the time, and we also bought her a Black Hills Silver ring in 2016 when we went to the Black hills. So she wears those. But I don't wear any of my parents' or grandparents' jewelry now.
My mom’s jewelry is locked in a box. I looked at them the other day because I came across the box when I was looking for something else. I never have worn any of it. Our house was robbed growing up(NY and no one was home), and all her jewelry but what she wore to work was stolen. All the new stuff was not as nice or sentimental like the stolen. She had a gold Omega watch she got for her 16th bday, and the loss of that bugged her the most of anything taken.

My mom wears her rings all the time. Even when she had to get the diamond on her engagement ring reset, she still wore another ring my dad had given her for their anniversary in its place. I don't know how; I'd feel like I'd have to take it off before bed, and I'd be terrified of wearing it in the pool.

I wear my band every day (small gold band, with diamond chips). If I travel, I leave it at home, but wear a cheaper (costume jewelry) ring, because if anything happened to my ring while on vacation (lost in pool, fell out of suitcase, etc.), it would be lost for good.

I've read that in regard to travel, never take anything with you that you can't replace. People are out of their element when travelling, and people lose or misplace things a lot.

Every Saturday morning the store owner would stop by our house and collect the 1, 2 or 3 dollars that I had been able to scrape up to go towards the amount I owed. Sounds strange but remember this was in 1959, things were different.

Great story. It taught you that you needed to keep up your end of the bargain--a few dollars at a time. Even if it was 1959 and things were cheaper, the message to you was clearly understood and respected.

That stinks. Sadly there is no recourse. I won't install the new iphone update on my phone because I heard that it has glitches.

Same here. Still holding off on that one too.
I don’t understand how every time there is an “update” it’s so full of glitches that many of us don’t even wanna’ go there, based on past experience, or the experience of others.
I have no clue why they can’t get it right before releasing it to the public, instead of using the public as guinea pigs...and so many times p’d off guinea pigs... :cyclops:
