We had a grand piano growing up, my Sis begged for it. Her abilities, well sucidoodles. She could play the notes but not music.

Me, I was much better but I never wanted to take lessons or play. I preferred my guitar but my Mom would have none of that, piano it was. I HATED it. After so many years of piano were finally over I played piano when I need to blow of steam, it became my wordless rant. I actually became better at playing rant songs that I could pound out. Big Shot, I am Woman, 9 to 5, pieces with a lot of spunk. Everything I played I knew by heart.

When we bought our last house my Mother hired a mover and the doorbell rang and there was the freak'n piano. Surprise. She could have shipped it to my Sister!!! I continued to only play it as a release but added after kids were in the mix clear my head pieces like Fur Elise or In the Ghetto. My DD had piano lessons for about a year. An X Nun that quit the Order but she was mean and my DD was done. She continued guitar and is quite good at it and she had an awesome instructor who was amazed at how quickly she caught on.

About a decade ago I gave the Piano to the Piano tuner. Amen. Enough years it took over the majority square feet of my dining room and I wanted it back. Hopefully the Piano has finally found happiness in its new home.
Wow! Your words read like an excerpt from a novel. More than just a post. Great writing! ;)

I think this is one of my favorite photos I took this trip.

So I woke up this morning and got the kids' lunches ready, etc, and I go to watch the news and there's my BIL's street, just like...30 seconds away from his house, surrounded by a swat team. They arrested 7 men in a terrorist cell who were planning a major attack, and one of the men was my BIL's neighbor. It's also right behind my in-laws' house. DD says it's creepy, because she's been past there so many times to get to the playground, or to help walk the dog my in-laws were sitting, and it's where my FIL took the kids to teach them to ride their bikes. I'm thinking my BIL must not have been home last night, or we probably wouldn't have had to see it on the news!

I won't be around this weekend. A friend from a different fan forum is coming this weekend and all of us girls who live in the Netherlands are getting together with her. So I will be playing the role of tourist. And next week we have a weekend with DH's work to celebrate their 40 years of being in business. Busy busy busy!
You'll be missed but go have lots of fun and please take a few pics if you get a chance

Oh, and dont hate me.. but I also made a decision, yesterday, to take down a Bartlett Pear tree. The last few storms have caused a lot of branches to fall, and although it was beautiful, it was too close to the house. Apparently theyā€™re ā€œweakā€ trees.

So basically a 3rd of my backyard is under hay now.. Iā€™m glad I did it, donā€™t regret it, but it still makes me a little sad. The trees were really pretty, and a little sentimental with the swing.
Have you decided what's going in it's place?
