If you think that was 😱, then here’s another one...I haven’t seen the Lion King show yet either. I intend to soon, though.
Whenever I’ve been to AK, it’s usually for the rides. I did enjoy Nemo though. I don’t know how often I would go and watch it, but it was fun.
HERESY!
I always watch the festival of the lion king at least TWICE per visit :P

I completely agree for the most part. However, I do think that Pregnancy/motherhood is still one of the larger hurdles and biggest decisions for women, when it’s the right time in their career. (Imo) I don’t know if that will ever change... but it has gotten a heck of a lot better.

@MinnieM123 , I missed your post and have no idea where to find it on these pages, but I want to say that I agree women have always had goals, even if different goals. My mom left her career, as a secretary, to become a stay at home with me, her first child, and never went back to (paid) work. She had and achieved so many other goals though, and I respect her more than I could ever put into words.
I think the main difference between now and then is that women have the CHOICE to stay home or have a career, including careers where they’re now the one’s with an admin assistant..women now have any opportunity that a man has, and guidance counselors/teachers/society showing them that they can do anything they want to do, including being a SAHM or an admin assistant, but not restricted to it. :)

I agree that a wife can have a very fulfilling life and raise children as their full time career. Still my opinion is have a back up career or eduction if being dependent on a spouse goes south especially if one wants children. Divorce laws have changed dramatically since we were children. I am a firm believer in being fully self sufficient should the spouse become a donkey or donkeyette. I never left behind a career but I did open my own business out of my home so I could be available. I look at the sheer volume of divorces on the threads. Unless there are extenuating circumstances Judges generally require a work component for women/men. Have a solid career even if put aside to stay at home with children there is that fall back on should something go wrong. My Moms generation on a whole didn’t have that. Some of my generation didn’t think ahead either. So many things in life are not predictable so having a feasible plan to support your kids without a spouse is just smart proactive planning. Anything can happen like it did to my cousin who’s hubby died in an accident. Life insurance yes but health insurance gone.

So my option is strive to be all you can be should you ever be in a position to provide income and Heath insurance to your offspring. Our country is changing so rapidly. What was once a back up for families can be gone in one signature in the states. That begs the then what?
Unless it’s new math.... :cautious:

Today I go to buy one pair of polarized sunglasses. Then the onset of various coatings begins. She wouldn’t let up on the coating for night vision while driving.

Couldn’t seem to grasp I didn’t wear dark sunglasses while driving at night. :banghead::banghead:

Oooh! I love that movie as well!! Makes me cry every time. You know I actually was at the ‘80 Olympics. The company my mom worked for at the time was running tour groups to the Olympics and she was in charge, so I got to spend a few freezing cold days in Lake Placid. I watched the speed skating, which was outside. I still remember that because my toes were frozen, and ice dancing(boring). She liked the ice dancing. I would have preferred figure skating and hockey. We could have seen the Miracle in person. She had hockey tickets but game them to someone else. :(

That would have been so cool to be at the game. Hubs and I were excited when Chicago had a bid in for the Summer Olympics that ended up going to Rio. It would have been so close and I wouldn't have minded staying at his sister's house for that.:)
