For those who have stayed at SoG..... do you bring "mousekeeping" tips, or is that only for Disney resorts?

My best guess is that even though the resort is for military (with discounts, etc.), I would assume guests would still tip (or want to tip) the housekeepers. I figure the housekeepers, wait staff, etc., are probably not all veterans themselves, and basically are locals working a job, to put food on the table for their families..

I am not aware of a number in which a real human being at Amazon will talk to you. If you are aware of one please pass it on to me.
............................btw......my brother from Ohio is smart with electronics. He runs his own internet service. He happens to be on his way to visit me. He'll arrive tomorrow. He graduated as an Electrical Engineer (Case Western Reserve). If something can be done, he'll know what to do...............AND......he's the one who bought it for me last Christmas ;)

Glad your brother is stopping by and hopefully, he can resolve the issue for you. As for customer assistance at Amazon, hubs has dealt with them a few times, and only has praise for them.

My buddy @Artemus posts on the game forum. I'd like to answer his question from over there......instead I'll answer it over here...(if that makes any sense o_O:D )
So Arte, I most recently have had a Wawa BLT sub and I am way over due for a Wawa Chicken Parm.!!:hungry:
Today was my last day of school. One of my students gave me an End of the Year gift......a Red Robin gift card :)
Very Cool!

There are definitely some similarities in our families, years ago. As a side note, I was thinking that down in your area, you probably bowled with the larger bowling balls. Up here, it was always candlepin bowling. And bowling isn't nearly as popular as it was years ago, at least in my area. Happy to hear that your father still enjoys his night out with the boys! :joyfull:

Yes, it was always the larger ones.
And yes, they were discussing the general decline of bowling on the local radio talk show on my commute home from work a coupla' months ago, from it's heyday in the 50's and 60's.
I remember PBA tournaments being on some of the major networks all the time on the weekends back in the day.
Can't remember the last time I saw one on TV, but, it was many years ago.
I've always enjoyed bowling, even though it's not something we've done on a regular basis in many years.
May need to fix that...!

ETA...
Thanks! Pop still loves it...!!! :)

It's always good form to tip housekeeping. We told them not to bother while we were there seeing we only spent 3 nights and I had some basic cleaning stuff with me but I left the room in good order but still left a nice tip

Sure, but is it still "mousekeeping"? I guess my question is: would you just leave a tip, or would you do the whole decorated envelope over the top thing that seems expected in Disney hotels? Can we just leave money?

Another stupid person moment at work...

This person sent in a ticket for software approval. It was an easy approval, so I did it for him. He IM'ed me and asked me what the status was. I told him that his ticket had been sent to the service center and that if he didn't hear back from someone within two days to let me know. He says, "Well, can't we have this faster? We've been waiting weeks for this." He submitted the ticket less than a week prior. Which I could plainly see on the ticket. I repeated myself: give them two days, and if you don't hear back, let me know (that's usually when I escalate to their manager and say "Hey, ticket's not being worked on and the user wants an update" and he gets it assigned, but I don't like doing that unless I'm sure it's being ignored).

Today, I get an email from his boss, who I happen to know, and I see his email to his boss where he tells his boss that I told him that it would take a week for the ticket to get completed and that they'd already been waiting weeks.

Well, since his boss asked nicely if I would escalate, I did, and then I sent his boss a screenshot of the conversation where I told him to check back in two days and told him the ticket had only been opened a week prior.

Lesson: do not lie to me or about me.

I once heard of a person who microwaved a bag of gummy bears for lunch.

I always let the kids decorate envelopes that say “Mousekeeping” on them. Then we put some money inside.
