Unfortunately, I know nothing of these devices (as most of them are not available in my country). But due of privacy I definitively would never use.

Recently, I was reading about Marriott introducing them into (some) of the hotels as an extra amenity for guests, that like to use them. Some people (like myself) were not keen on this, but the article I read said that you can just unplug them if you don't want anything to do with them. So that made me feel a bit better about the situation.

Id honestly skip Amazon's reviews. Most of the time they are mostly done by the usual casual user and they do not know much.
You will see a lot of "wow most amazing thing ever!" or "doesnt work!" because they just do not know how to use the devices or use their potential or just do not know there are better alternatives.

I'm sure there is definitely some truth in all that. But, being objective here, my gut feeling is that there is usually some sort of "balance" in customer reviews about (anything). @dryerlintfan may have her own criteria for reviews; but in my own situation, what I do is look for trends. (Usually, the truth hovers somewhere around the middle of trends in customer responses.)

Yet, that being said, my comments above are not meant to diminish what you're saying, Cesar, as "knowledge" in the tech field-(specifically), might fall outside the realm of even "trends".

Hi all!
I posted this question on WDWMagic's Gadgets and Technology Forum.....but this forum has MUCH more people viewing it.....AND also people who "know" me.
So,
Today my 16 year old told me she pushed the power button on our "Alexa Show" and it did not respond. My daughter unplugged it after a few tries. I checked that outlet and it has electricity flowing through it as usual.
The Alexa Show was dead when I tried it as well.
There is no battery.....so nothing to replace.
Just a power cord and the device...that's it.
Anyone have any thoughts?View attachment 291082
It WAS worth a shot. Alas it is really dead. Carry on everyone. Nothing to see here 😀:)
I know someone who is a manager at an Amazon warehouse near here, but I won’t be seeing him for a few weeks. You can always contact their customer service online and ask for help.

I just got a package from Amazon. Ordered it on Saturday and it came yesterday. All without Prime. However, usually Amazon screws you if you don't have Prime and you have to wait 7 - 10 days for it.

I complained once how it took way too long vs other stores that offer free shipping....got my whole order for free which I wasn't really expecting and really a drop in the bucket for Amazon.

Oh there is, I usually check the reviews only for reliability purposes (as in to check if there are defects, bad vendors, etc..)

I have never once found that to be true. I have gotten free shipping and earlier then stated deliver most of the time and the others where right when they predicted they would arrive. I don't even know what the benefit of Prime is at this point.

I just posted this in the World Cup thread, but I’ll put it here too :)

Have I mentioned that I LOVE World Cup years??? Especially this one.. I LOVE that T LOVES it!!!! We’re having a great time, he even got me to cheer for Portugal today. ;)

Unfortunately the poster got wrinkled in T’s closet before we framed it last week, I should have been more careful. Tried to buy another one, but they’re sold out everywhere. Hopefully when we add the glass it will not be as noticeable.

LOL I'm not suggesting reading the reviews to see if the product is good or not. I'm saying I've had a lot of luck when I run into a problem with a product looking at the review section on Amazon because others have also had that problem and fixed it. This is especially true for me with electronics and anything that needs to be assembled (like furniture). For troubleshooting specific problems, it's sometimes helpful to check there.

I use it to order random stuff I don't feel like hunting around for, like cat food and litter. It's lovely. Last time I ordered it, I ordered it one night, and it showed up the next day. Stuff that I used to go to Target for I now go to Amazon for. I like not having to run around for stuff. Or hitting the minimum to get free shipping.
