'Tis the season! Last band concert for DD tomorrow. DS is playing jazz at college Wednesday (lab band) and Thursday (Jazz Band), and Saturday is a celebration of Bernstein's 100th. Looking forward to the West Side Story suites, not the 8 PM start time with that one. Looks like I will be out past my bedtime.

I am gonna be so cultured!

How exciting! Will be worth being out past your bedtime. :)

I am the only female in my office. I wish I had that situation! Someday another one will come in..I keep hoping anyway
I work with a bunch of IT guys. And they have to come to me a good bit for permission to install software or give out a new PC. I honestly love having that kind of control. Not that I abuse it, but it's kind of fun to have a bunch of guys come ask permission from a tiny woman.

They also like me enough to have lunch with me every now and then as well.

I wish I would have been more friendly with coworkers and employees when I was in my 20s. I didn’t have lunch with them, I didn’t have after work drinks with them.. I wanted to keep such a professional relationship at all times.. because I felt like being social with them would lesson their respect for me..basically had a chip on my shoulder. I regret it. I’m friendly with the people I work with now, and we’ve had some good times together. I shouldn’t have waited until my late 30s to do that. So... basically Good Job to You! :)

If nothing else you should lean how to do hemming and button replacement. Seeing T is slim you should also learn to run a straight stitch so you can take things in. As I said find a local sewing machine store. Most give at least one lesson included with purchase and give additional classes as needed.

We had a sewing store around here for some years, and they had lessons. Unfortunately, the store couldn't stay afloat, and closed. There's nothing like that around here anymore. I used to know a lot more people that sewed years ago. I learned in high school and could sew seams, etc. Nothing fancy, but I could sew some basic things and do repairs.

My sewing machine at home has been in a box now for probably 13 years.
