Yah, global warming was the older term/climate change is the current one in use for some years now. I got a chuckle out of your 100 year prediction--who knows, you might be right! ;)

Old term, new term I do chuckle how every decade the science changes and in the grand scheme of things only a few years have passed. Reminds me of eggs, they are good for you, they are bad for you, eat meat to loose weight now we have people chugg'n vinegar. And this year Pink is the new black. I tend not to put any worries into the latest fear factors.

Ha! Oh by the way, I get these emails from AAA Travel, and the one today was about the prudence of having a paper map when you travel, as GPS can bite the dust at any time. (They suggested to have both.) So there!! :p

I can't say I've ever had GPS ever bite the dust, the last time I had an issue with GPS do me wrong was in Central IL in 2009 as my DD and I tried to find the University of Illinois from Missouri. It did actually take us there kinda, it took us to a corn field some 20 miles from UoI that was part of their agricultural studies program. Fortunately I was somewhat familiar with the interstates and just headed North. Still I like maps mostly online to really get my head around areas that I am not familiar with. GPS doesn't do that for me.

My greatest asset to me while I am traveling is my smart phone. This week I needed gas while my DD and I were traveling in an unknown area and not a gas station to be found. She popped up on her iPhone for me 3 off the main road we were on but just really around corners form where we were. I have not had a smart phone all that long, 2014, a hold out. It has been a great investment for me. I wouldn't want to go back. I need a new one, my aging eyes and elderly phone, it is time.

They were doing some work outside that was close to the Tomorrowland bathrooms. Probably adding more seating.
More seating? Since when do the ADD more seating--have your forgotten about all the benches?! Their mantra is to keep the herd moving along . . . :cautious:

I wouldn't be surprised. They are adding a new show for the summer in that area, a g a i n. We will see how popular. That area is pure concrete and zero shade. A nasty combo. Not a lot of families want to dance in the heat and humidity mid-day. A learning curve for Disney they can't seem to grasp. They are also taking things out like certain Kiosks and Arcade stuff, maybe adjusting for Tron and the White Facelift. Waiting to see how all the rumors shake out for Buzz in its current form as it really needs a major rehab. I hope for the best that at least something similar goes in there. I love Toy and I love even more Men in Black. I hope they keep that type of attraction in Tomorrowland even if it is not Buzz.

I find in my older age (I turned 56 yesterday)that I can't make out the details on your typical paper folded map. Too small!
Or....I'm too old! Not sure which...

Ahhh....same age as I am and our friend @donaldtoo You should have him pull up the cheater glasses he had to purchase at WDW one visit. They are very Disney and quite cute. :joyfull:

I started loosing my close vision when I turned 40, earlier generally for gals. I'd be a hazard on the road trying to read a map, GPS is a lifesaver for me while driving. I traveled for years for work and could keep a map on the passenger seat. I can't do that now safely. Very different if you have someone riding shotgun.

Thank goodness the only ones I would have ordered were only 11 percent off.:hilarious:

I was in a Croc's outlet this weekend. I really am not a fan of having to buy two. I know lots of stores have gone to this but I don't really need two of everything in life. I even see this at my local grocer more and more. I need one bunch of bananas not two.

I can tell you about 1983....

And in fairness I can remember what my earnings were in 1983 and what I paid for my house in 1983 along with groceries and a car cost back then.

I agree the last decade Disney has gone whacko with their rise in pricing, no argument but it is also difficult to go back to the dawning of Epcot and a long time off from the Studios and Animal Kingdom existing. Those prices were the very first years of a hopper 'cause Epcot just opened, prior to that there was nowhere to hop to from the Magic Kingdom.

That is a perfect temp for me. I don't know what the temp high was today but my Sis sent me a text saying that 'Mom' thought the temp was warmer than her liking. Sis went on to say 'Mom' should be happier that the balance of their stay it should be in the 70's and more to the liking of 'Mom.' My Sis lives in Cleveland, my Mom up here near me. A week of bliss that 'Sis' has taken her on vacation. Some days the Soup is to Hot, the Soup is too Cold makes Moms DD tired.

Blah. Fried Shrimp?

$9 is more than I am willing to pay for a wedge of a head of lettuce. I like this place because of its tranquility and the reason I don't care for Cosmic Rays. When I go to dine I don't care for hype, loud and bustling. I can go upstairs in Harbor and sit by a window, it is quiet and very cool temps. Never loud. It is a nice regroup place mid-day. I'm not going to enjoy $10 frozen chicken nuggets. I'll trade that for BoG and their Braised Beef. Just have to remember to pre order and skip the check through kiosk line cause that is ridiculous.

I know I've been away for a couple thousand pages or so...but I thought I was the music teacher around here! Happy Birthday @SteveBrickNJ - hope your Festival/Assessment goes well - if you are went yesterday/today, a good friend of mine was possibly judging you!

And...hello to all! Been away too long (and likely this is just a drop in visit), but snow days make for some good wdwmagic time!
Hello. Hope all is well since you've been gone

Yeah, Vegan and Vegetarians guests who complained to Disney got this canned response.

From time to time, we make adjustments to our Food and Beverage
offerings for a variety of reasons, including change of suppliers,
product availability, and Guest feedback. Our goal is to provide our
Guests with items that meet our high quality standards while
accommodating as many requests as possible.

Much like Walt Disney once stated, "Disneyland will never be completed,"
the Walt Disney World Resort will never be completed as we are always
coming up with improvements based on feedback from dedicated fans - just
like you - who have a passion for the Disney brand. Please know that we
have shared your feedback with appropriate Leadership. Our Guests'
feedback, as well as their continued enthusiasm for our products and
services, is very important to us.

Please know, all of the restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort
offer at least one vegetarian option and most can be modified to be
vegan. Please speak to your server or a Special Diets trained Food &
Beverage Cast Member upon arrival at each location. They will be happy
to assist with your selection and provide product labels and ingredients
for menu items.

As always, our Special Diets Team is committed to providing you with
personalized service. If you are planning on visiting within the next
few weeks, please contact us during our business hours of 9:00 a.m. ET
to 5:00 p.m. ET, seven days a week, at 407-824-5967 so that we may
discuss your options.
:mad::mad: The profit margin on those has to be higher than on the meat items. I don't get it.
