Sympathy like. I'm right there with you 5 degrees, a glazing of ice and 2 or so inches of snow over that. :grumpy::cold::coldfeet:

Oy. Waiting for DD to finish work at 2pm and go out and buy her food for several days of Instant Pot recipes she has picked out. The are saying the snow should arrive between 5pm and go through tomorrow, of course a holiday for her.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate snow and winter. It is going to be real cold through at least Wednesday. Errr...:cautious:

Yea, when I moved out (her Mother had already left) my youngest sat their in her car with her husband and just cried. I really didn't know what to say. We had to get together to clean the place up. Before we finished the new owner showed up with buckets and cleaning supplies. And I could tell that the lady was so excited to be a home owner that I remember thinking that they will take good care of the place. Sad about what happened to them... so many times life seems to be totally oblivious to what is fair and what is right. There are so many people on this earth that are nasty piles of garbage that are doing nothing but using up oxygen and they continue on forever. Others that have spend their life searching for happiness, just repeatedly get kicked in the head. Nothing I can do about that, but, it surely does make me angry.

Makes you wonder if the lady still owns that house though?

Me I don't get angry or bitter. My analogy is to be the one that tops off the project and sinks the flag in at the highest spot. It was a long game of chess but I had my checkmate. :inlove:

Last night he complained his hand and shoulder hurt. Today I'm contemplating guilt:angelic:

Ha! Don't contemplate guilt for long. The way I see it the lesson being learned is MOM DOES TOO WORK. Mom works so hard that it makes your hand and shoulder hurt. And maybe the next time The Mom says NO zipping the mouth is best. The best master plan he could have now would be a heartfelt I'm sorry.

There are so many things to consider. And in many areas too many things to overthink. Much of it depends on your own personal style and driving habits. I have cloth interior in my car as does my DD but not DS. None of us tend to eat in our car as a result leather is less important so lifestyle comes to play. I take my truck to a full service car wash and I've never had any problems with crumbs and stuff coming off the interior than I have had with the floor rugs. Given the price of cars we are not sloppy folk to that may play into it too. My DS car was purchased new off the lot and it has leather. It has its pros and cons in this climate. Leather is very cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer where fabric is not as extreme and retains the heat and frozen longer than fabric. My last truck had leather and I actually put a bath towels on the seats in the Winter and Summer so I would wouldn't burn my tush in shorts and freeze my tush in the winter. It cuts both way. Toyota in recent history has been plagued with mega recalls some with no solutions for long lengths of time. American cars are no angels either in all fairness. My advice is too look at the overall big picture, your lifestyle and how long you at least plan on keeping the car of your choice. If you plan on eating your meals in a car leather is important. If you tend not to turn your car into a kitchen not so much, that kind of usage. My DD has a 20 year old Chevy and still going strong. Starts everyday and has had maybe $1000 in maintance in the 10 years she has had it so generalizations are not always a good example. My sons Olds Cutlas Supreme was beyond reliable. He had that car 12 years. The body failed given our climate not the transmission nor the engine.
I fall in the eat in the car category. My brother will also eat in the car iifhe's with meb as will my friends. I've had leather in both of my cars. I refuse to do cloth in a car. I think it was my single biggest turn off to the Elantra I had in California. I don't mind the faux leather, but no fabric. I've lived with it long enough to know about the temperature thing, but in our climate, I find it's only an issue on super hot days. Cold days, you have heated seats, hot days mostly aren't an issue if you find a spot in the shade.

Took my dad's car out today to see how I liked it. It is a nice ride. My biggest concern is every day coming in and hearong, "Is the car okay?":hilarious:

I can't believe how little people have to put down to qualify for a mortgage, in the UK you need to have at least 5%.
When I applied for my mortgage in 2014 I had to show a year's worth of bank statements so the mortgage company could see how I spent my money and that I could afford the upkeep of the apartment not just the mortgage.
I had a 25% down payment and savings for the remodel but it still took some time to get approved.

We put 20% down for a lower interest rate, 15% at the time was the minimum. We didn't have to demonstrate any spening habbits however they looked to see if we had any other debt. Our cars were paid off and we didn't have credit card debt, I had been at my job a long time and had a 2nd job so we didn't have difficulties qualifying. I guess that is why 2% down just surprised me, also until the house closed I was guarded if they ultimately were going to buy the home.

Don't feel guilty. He's not doing anything you don't do daily. It won't hurt him to gain some appreciation of that. How many times have YOU done so much chopping that your hands hurt, or that your shoulders were stiff? He's saying it's not work....he needs to learn that it is.
@Songbird76 is your doctor running a practice that's different than other doctors?
Nope....that's just the Dutch attitude here. Even with ear infections, they won't give you anything until you've used nasal spray for at least 3 days to clear out the sinuses and see if that helps. It was like that with the doctor we had when we lived in Arnhem, it's been like that with the on call doctor whenever we've gone there...that's just Dutch practice. When DS was 3 weeks old, he came down with a really bad cough and was having problems nursing because his nose was so stuffy. He had a really high fever, and was just miserable. My MIL had a cough as well, and then she found out that one of her sisters-in-law had a confirmed diagnisis of whooping cough, and my MIL had visited a week or 2 before...so she was exposed, and of course, my son, newly born, had been exposed to my MIL who possibly had whooping cough. She went to the doctor to get tested, but the test came back inconclusive. My nephew was 2, and his doctor actually gave him antibiotics as a precaution, because he was so young and was coughing. But my son was too young yet for the vaccine, so he was completely vulnerable, and our doctor wouldn't even let us bring him in to check him out. We waited until evening when the doctor closed, and called the on call doctor...they wouldn't see him either. We basically ended up just calling over and over and over until they got tired of us and prescribed antibiotics to get us to stop calling. They just kept telling us that babies and kids ran higher fevers than adults....a fever of 104.4 was nothing to worry about with a baby, and the fact that my MIL's test had been inconclusive...well, they couldn't confirm that DS had been exposed. No, we didn't need to get him tested...his cough didn't sound like a whooping cough. They were sure it was nothing.
We almost always ride Test Track single rider. None of us are impressed with build a car portion and in single rider you have the option of a quicker version. Aside from the photopass there really isn't a need to be in the same car as who you are traveling with, not like floating in pirates or small world etc. TT always has a huge standby and not worth it. TT also doesn't have as many FPs either as it frequently breaks down or shuts down for rain storms so that is somewhat built into their FP+ release. Me, I've been going to WDW for so long I predate all FPs. I actually liked that best. Everyone was in the same boat, get in line, wait your turn. Overall I believe we spent less time in lines per day.

It is rare for us to book 6 months out too but close when it fall free dining or fall room discounts. It is 6 months for ADRs and that is rougher when trying to grab an ADR at a more popular place. FPs are 2 months out or 60 days. Our problem was trying to book Flight of Passage for our impromptu December trip. Standby is easily 3-5 hours frequently. It is a very very slow loading attraction and a low capacity too. DD kept checking multiple times a day and landed on that slapped into our Christmas Party night start time. She kept checking and found it again 2 days before we left a few hours earlier than the first FP+ one we had. But that is the thing, yes you can get most with little lead time but you have to put the time into the app and keep checking. She did the same thing with ADRs for our September. It was a little easier this year because the Moderates were booted to Quick Service over regular dining plan. In return the QS lunch for BoG was insane, they were running an hour behind and we had an early lunch. We've just found so many things go wrong trying to get to ADRs and FP+ because of transportation glitches or dining making you wait too long and stress of thinking you are going to miss your FP+ Disney isn't relaxing.
I do kind of miss being able to be spontaneous about WHERE we wanted to eat meals, but I just use ADRs and and FPs as a sort of outline. I have those things set and then we know what part of which park we'll be in when. I tend not to park hop a whole lot...we make ADRs for the park we are in or in a resort nearby that park...like, we did 'Ohana after a waterpark day when we had FPs in the evening for Epcot. That way we didn't have to go back and forth. But when we spent the whole day in Epcot, that was the day we did Akershus. So we plan in advance for that, because I would do that anyway....otherwise I get a bit of anxiety. I am so not a fly by the seat of my pants girl.

Warm hugs and wine being sent your way. This should be big enough for all of us and it's within walking distance to UNI https://www.realtor.com/realestatea...ntry-Club-Dr_Windermere_FL_34786_M62549-94636
