Oh dear... Now I am scared. Olive oil, a little parm reggiano, pecorino and garlic usually makes anything taste good - I'm hoping that holds true for this.

Dare I ask... Was it the smell? If so what did they smell like?
Combo fish/pond scum.
Lots of people eat them, so clearly it's not off-putting to everyone.
I won't eat oysters, clams, or snails either - I have a fairly pedestrian palate.

Your experience may be better. Try them at least; you might be less grossed out.

Pond scum!? I just barfed in my mouth a little. I'm terrified! I'll just have to keep telling myself "not pond scum... Yam protein!"

I will sautéed up some garlic in olive oil and maybe that will be enough to mask the smell.

My friend who is doing Keto recommended then to me but never warned me about the schtank?!

Okay, now we want a minute by minute update when you do finally try them. With pics!
Do you eat clams, oysters, snails? If so, perhaps you will fare better.

ETA - The smell is most bothersome when you first open the bag. You have to really, really rinse them. Like I said, I didn't even try them, as the odour turned me off from the get-go. YMMV

I'll probably try then Saturday when I'm home all day.

My family heritage is from Lecce Italy - a southern coastal town... and if it swims, we eat it - squid, conch, abalone, urchin, any fish. I also will eat any sushi. The only thing I can't bring myself to eat are oysters and snails.

I'll probably go simple with these - garlic, olive oil, pecorino and parm regg.

Sad day in the JenniferS household.
Son #2 still off work ... barfing his guts up!
And now ... the big guy has gone down.

It's as quite as a tomb in here, except for alternating/simultaneous yakking!
Good thing we have three bathrooms.

That only leaves Adopted Son to get it. He was gone for 48+ hours over the weekend, so I predict he'll get hit by Thursday at the latest.

I will, of course, keep you posted. :hilarious:

Nope, started with stomach cramps (akin to labour pains), urgent! trips to the bathroom, and then yakking.

I avoided the yakking! Vomit-free since December 1996, still intact. :)
You are very lucky

I have gotten a stomach virus every year in Sept/Oct since I was in first grade.

And then I usually end up with a second one at some point during the school year. I brought one home from SC this past January. I got banished to my room for three days. Brother had a friend over. They were not allowed upstairs (not a huge deal since there's a full bathroom down there) and they slept in the basement. Neither of them got it. I was the lone sick person in the house

Hmmm, I suppose if you rinse them in rum, you might not notice it. Or if you drink enough, you might notice but not care? ;)

Disney needs one of these. Or 12 in each resort

Soda fountain. It has so many options in one machine. 24 kind of soda/soft drink and then when you tap your choice, about half a dozen flavor options.

You can probably get 100 different drinks from that one machine.

Disney, take notes.

And yes, I am in love with a soda fountain.
