Well we got home and realized we were pretty dumb for turning the heat off while we were gone. The inside of our house was down to 27* and even with the heat going full blast it's only just up to 55* five hours later. Love and learn. The kid and I have been huddled under a pile of blankets watching movies, so that's been really nice :inlove::inlove:
Yikes. When I first moved here, we lived with my inlaws and we went "home" one year for Christmas before the kids were born. I was so angry with my in-laws. They turned off the heat in our room, which I get, BUT they knew when we were coming back, and not only did they not turn the heat back on, but they also opened the windows to "air the room out". We had been awake for more than a day, we just wanted to go to sleep, and our room was like a freezer. And since the REST of the house was toasty warm, the heater in our room wouldn't come on, so we couldn't even warm it up. It was something like 45F degrees in there. "Well, you weren't here so it's a waste of money to heat that room." Sure...for the 2 weeks we were gone, ok....but why didn't you turn the heat back on last night since we were arriving in the morning??:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Since @Gabe1 posted her Disney books these are mine. It includes the Ink and Paint one I got from the brother-in-law today.

My Disney themed gifts from my hubs.

I included a close up of my fave Disney gifts from hubs, probably the nerdiest Disney gifts ever. A book about janitorial Disneyland cast members and a framed picture of Walt and Guy Williams (zorro).

WOW!! What a great haul of gifts!! (The book about the janitorial CMs intrigues me--I'll bet that will be good.)

My guess is you were very lucky that your pipes didn't freeze, thank goodness.

Yep. When mine were small the moderates still had full sized beds. (not sure why Disney put Fulls in any of their resorts ever) I got kicked upside the head by my DS when he was small many a time. He was a bed spinner, rotated like a clock. As time went on my Dad got the boy I got the girl. So happy when queen beds came to be...every few inches counted and I was blessed, when DD fell asleep she didn't move. The boys well they deserved each other...know where the manchild's bed spinning gene pool came from.

This is funny. We've always had a full mattress at home, because we've always lived in small places. But I never thought of it as small.

Yeah, we did that earlier this month. It is making the entire airport nutsville, too many travelers for way too long, it isn't built to house that many fliers. Like hello Fire Marshal.

I think part of it has to do with the TSA lines. At random times, they're insanely long, and I think that WDW bus service is just trying to cover the bases and get people to their airlines on time.

Up here we have nut jobs doing polar plunges in the coldest and snowiest times of the year. Why? Just Why?

In Boston, we have the L Street Brownies--they take the plunge every year--can't wait to see this in a few days--our temps are around zero, without the wind! This year will mark the 114th annual "event" . Few photos from last year below (from Google) --

Not a bad idea, not a bad idea at all. Is there a Inn anywhere nearby you can stick the inlaws?
Not that I know of, no. It's so different here as far as tourism goes...hotels and such are in the bigger cities, but not a whole lot in the smaller ones. And my in-laws only live about 40 minutes away. By Wyoming standards that's nothing, but by Dutch standards, they think it's a really long way. Which, I guess is fair considering how much it costs to have a car and to pay for gas.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

Clean an oven? In my adult life I've never cleaned an oven. Ya push a button and they clean themselves.

This is one area that I am very much in my mother's image. (I certainly could have picked a better example. )

She didn't believe in self-cleaning ovens as she felt it was a waste of electricity, because they got so high in temperature. Don't ask me why, but I could never get that out of my head, all these years later . . . so I just get the can of Easy Off oven cleaner (they now come in fume-free), and just scrub it all out. Kinda like a retro Minnie from the 50s . . . :geek: :hilarious:.
