Hey, how's Jett liking his new digs? Is he all settled in now with the family and other pets? Have you trained him to bring you slippers (or, actually, I should say, your flip flops)? o_O :p

Thanks for asking, but, we, unfortunately, had to take Jett back to the shelter Saturday afternoon.
It just wasn't working, at all, with Belle. We think she accepted Indy and Ranger much better because they were puppies coming in, Jett was 2 years old. We tried, but, in the end, we just felt it wasn't fair try and force them to get along.
Such a shame. We originally went to look at a dog named Toby that is a Bassett Hound/Golden mix. He was such a cool looking dog, but, already had interest pending and we didn't click with him like we had hoped, anyway. Another lady was just putting Jett back in his kennel when we walked by to put Toby back in his. We went to look at Jett, interacted with him a bit, and then took him for a walk. We fell in love. Such an even-tempered, and wonderfully loving personality. He got along very well with Ranger, too, but, reality is reality.
Again, such a shame. I REALLY hope he finds a good home. Such a beautiful pup soul.
And, we go on...

This breaks my heart. I am so sorry that Belle wasn't a fan of Jett. Have no doubt this must have been a very difficult decision for you. Let's pray that Jett finds a better placement. He was so adorable, and I know that another family (maybe with no dog, yet) will be blessed in his company.

Thank you so much for the kind words.
Heartbreaking, indeed.

So, when I got home after work today, my landlord was ripping up the ceiling, wall, and eventually, he's also going to replace the floor. He has to rip out the damaged gutters, too. (He's a contractor by trade, so knows how to do all this type of work.)

You should have seen me yesterday, moving things out of that room when the ceiling was leaking from the ice melting above. I had my bicycle helmet on; I was so scared the ceiling was going to fall on my head! HA! (Ceiling didn't fall.) Bet none of you have ever seen anyone frantically remove the contents of a room, with a bicycle helmet on . . . it was a first, for me, too. :hilarious:

Meanwhile, yesterday I felt like a heel because I yelled at my dog. He always follows me around the house and is very nosy about everything. Well, he got underfoot while I was trying to push out storage boxes, 2 bicycles, skis, bags of goodness knows what I had in there, etc. into the adjoining kitchen and I yelled him . . . then I felt bad because he looked so hurt. He was obviously concerned that I looked like a lunatic in my bicycle helmet while hurriedly pushing out boxes. So then, I pretended to be happy to cheer him up, but you know . . . dogs aren't stupid. He knew I was in a "state" and he didn't eat his dog food last night, because he was still upset. I've failed. I'm a horrible dog mother . . . :(

Generally, dogs have short memories.
You'll be best buds again in no time.

Oh Boy. Sorry.

If ever there was a picture taken that would sum up the reason that I couldn't wait to move south, that would be it. Just looking at it made me depressed and I'm not in it.

Sound of Music is just too long for me but one of my all time favorite musical songs is Edelweiss. My DDs chorus sang Edelweiss in many competitions and they nailed it.
When my youngest Daughter was about 4 or so, we would sit in the living room where I would strum on my guitar and she and I would sing Edelweiss together. Almost every night she wanted to do that for a couple of years. She still liked to do that later, but, growing up occupied a lot of her time during those later years. She kept it a secret until it actually started, but, she had chosen "Edelweiss" for our Father/Daughter dance at her wedding.

Seriously, his forehead had more lines 35+ years ago.
Put down the scalpel. Run away from the Botox!
Nice hairpiece though. I guess he can afford it.:)

I hate winter.
I hate February especially.
I hate this February even more than most.

From Newstalk1010:
"Monday was a record setting day in Toronto.

The temperature at Pearson Airport dipped to -21.3 at 9 a.m. making Monday the coldest February 23rd on record in Toronto. The previous record of minus 19.4 set back in 1978.

Record lows were also set in Hamilton, Welland, London, and at Buttonville Airport.

February is also on track to be the coldest February on record and if the forecast doesn't change before the end of the month, February could become the first month since 1978 that did not see the temperature climb above zero."
It said on our news tonight that our Feb. has been the second coldest on record, the coldest being in 1875.
