If the drivers in North Carolina are like the ones in South Carolina, I'm really understanding @Goofyernmost 's posts about the right of way. Good grief, people here have no clue how to drive, or who has right of way at a four way stop, or the concept of stopping at a stop sign...

Of course, driving here from Charleston, someone did something idiotic, and I looked at the license plate and...yup, MD. :hilarious:

OMG that is so cute!!! I take it the meet and greet went well and it was nothing like meeting Santa! I'm so glad she got to meet Rapunzel! I love Rapunzel's face in the picture too...she looks like she's so touched. That must make a person's day when a little one is so excited to meet them.

All the meet and greets have gone amazing, even the mascotty ones!! Which is good, because that's pretty much all she's wanting to do :hilarious::hilarious:

As usual I know this post is out of the context of the current postings. Please forgive me.
I am on the lobby computer at my hotel in Savannah GA. Sunday night I was using the free wifi on my phone to look at WDW magic and I guess because it was public wifi, within 10 minutes my google chrome had a virus warning! My wifi uninstalled it and saved the day. Is that typical or was I just unlucky?

  1. What kind of warning was it? was your phone antivirus complaining? Are you sure it was a legit virus?
  2. You're more likely to get your account compromised by using a "free" to use lobby computer. Anyone can infect it and use it to steal your information without you even moving a thing (aka as soon you login..).

Why was he furious? If they wouldn't negotiate, your parents had every right to go to another dealer! They SHOULD have gone to another dealer. I'm all for company loyalty if I'm being treated well, but if I'm a good customer, I also expect the company to value that and reward it.
Perhaps he was angry at the vendor for not sweetening the deal to get the sale?
It seems the rep (aka vendor) was more busy looking at his "slice" of the sale than actually pushing to make the sale itself.

Can you please come over and clean up the mess they'd make:oops: today I'd rather have a bit less sleep than deal with their mess or finding tonight's dinner missing before noon.

My wife said that Facebook and some other sites are "safe" to view in a hotel but apparantly WDWMagic lacks some protection? I don't know if she is correct but since then I've used my phone to view tripadvisor but I'm only doing WGWMagic on the hotel's lobby computer. Feel free to reinforce my wife's opinion or dispute it. She'll never see what you post anyway :)
I never had an issue.

Hi @Mr Ferret 88 and Mrs. Ferret -- MERRY CHRISTMAS, and enjoy a tasty treat today.

(Oh well, I tried to insert a photo but it wouldn't show up.) It was a ferret enjoying his ice cream. :)
Well, we had a really nice Christmas morning/afternoon. I think we're forgiven for Christmas Eve. It's not a holiday here, and since I had a concert on Saturday and didn't get home until 12:30 am, I slept in and then DD and I made brownies and stuffed mushrooms that my MIL asked me to make for Christmas Dinner. Hubby told her she didn't need to worry about dinner for us on Christmas Eve, we'd come in the evening after dinner and stay so we could be here for Christmas morning, and we'd make brunch and bring the stuffed mushrooms and brownies for dinner. Apparently what she HEARD was that we were going to church with them last night. She never asked or said when the service was, but we got a phone call as we were pulling out of our street, asking where we were...they had missed the first service waiting for us and the next one started in half an hour and they were waiting on us. Ummmm...? I guess she just assumed when we said we'd come in the evening that we meant to go with them to church. But when I talked to her earlier in the week, she didn't even know if THEY were going to church because my FIL is still not feeling well, and I had told her I didn't know when we were coming and DH called her later to let her know the plan. So we never gave indication that we planned on going to church with them. They weren't happy with us.
We only do gifts for the kids (though my MIL did knit me a Ravenclaw Scarf!!! And we gave her some craft things) and they were so excited about everything. DS put on almost every item of clothing we got him....Star Wars shirts, a Ravenclaw sweatshirt, Star wars sweat pants are probably what he'll wear tomorrow. And he literally jumped up and down when he opened the soap...he LOVES that soap and had just used the last of the stuff he got last year, so he was really happy to get a new supply. And I got both kids Harry Potter Bedding....one a castle, and the other Hedwig, and DS got the whole set of books in Dutch and DD got a bunch of HP throw pillows, slippers, a tshirt, and the DVD of Fantastic Beasts and where to Find Them, and of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. DS was also super excited about the light saber toothbrush. And a stuffed sheep (he LOVES sheep) that has a wheat bag you put in the microwave to warm up, then put it back in the sheep and it keeps you warm. And DD got the mood stone jewelry she's been wanting...the best thing about those is I got them on clearance for 1 euro! I never did find the dressing gown in her size, but she was over the moon about everything, so she's not disappointed at all. It was so much fun watching them be so excited about things I got for just a Euro or two.

Happy to hear you had an awesome Christmas.

Glad you were forgiven for what you didn't do. *I had one of those moments with my Mom on Christmas Eve. I had things to say so I went out and shoveled her driveway instead of saying them. :angelic:

I exited out of the "chrome" app....used the Tripadvisor app successfully...came back to the chrome app....it loaded and the warning filled the screen again...my wife and I tinkered with it but it seemed like the real deal. Now it is 48 hours later I can't remember the wording or more specific details. Sorry.

I'd got with NOT! Stay safe my friend!

We ended up going out. Hubs ordered some new glasses and they came in at the eye dr. We decided to see what Walmart had for 50% Christmas stuff. I wanted to get some napkins and paper plates for next year. That Walmart excursion turned out to be fairly long as we kept running into people we knew. Oh well, we got all our snackies for New Years Eve so we shouldn't have to go to Walmart or the grocery store again for awhile.

The Christmas that I was seven months pregnant I was nesting big time. I went to eight or nine different stores and got a ton of Christmas supplies and decorations for 70-90% off during their after Christmas sales. I'm still using the wrapping paper I bought that year and I have at least a years worth of paper left :hilarious::hilarious: nobody needs that much wrapping paper!

Isn't it also a wiccan thing? I read a lot, and one of my favorite authors is Nora Roberts. Nora writes a lot about magic...particularly Irish people. And that's one of the things the "witches" always say..."and it harm none."

There is not an origin for the phrase other than it was Latin hundreds of years ago Primum non nocere Even the Masses I attended during the school day were in Latin but we were not all Irish, plenty of Italian and Polish in our school too. But for hundreds of years it has been attached to medical students education.

Yep, Nora under that name and several other pen names loves romance that includes magic and given her Irish ancestry she likely feeds off her own heritage. Her writing is very similar to the Harlequin Romance novels my Mom was addicted to while I was growing up. She has quit the following and my Mom now reads every book of hers too and she puts out so many each year. My thought she is more of a creative fictional writer over any sort of historian when she is pumping out her novels, I think they are more for entertainment than historical accuracy.

Being born in an Irish neighborhood we didn't have any Wiccans but 'others' not Irish talked about it as they talked about the Hungarian and Romanians being Gypsy thieves and so forth. When I was small in this region there wasn't much crossing of the line, even if you were Catholic you were Irish Catholic like I was raised, Italian Catholic, Polish Catholic, Hispanic Catholic and generally when you married back then if you were Italian ancestry you married that way...the blood line thing back then and in some families it is still 'right there.'
My Grans thought process was Birds of a Feather Flock Together. Wiccans she didn't speak of.

That's kind of funny! By the way it looks like you are having a great time at WDW!

I forgot to post yesterday's beer so I will do yesterday and today

Day four: Shiner Holiday Cheer, this was so good. It was brewed with roasted pecans and peaches. It smelled so good. I had gotten my brother in law (my sisters husband) a 6 pack and it had this beer in it and he loved it too. When we were at the grocery store I bought a six pack of it. I also thought of @donaldtoo as I was drinking it because it is a Texas beer. So if you haven't tried it yet @donaldtoo you should!

Day five: New Glarus Snowshoe. It is brewers in New Glarus Wisconsin and they don't sell outside of Wisconsin. It was good but really dark, it reminded me a little of Guinness.
