@figmentfan423 Ever make chia pudding? Made it for the first time last night for breakfast this morning. Used coconut milk. It tastes really yummy.:hungry: I made a vanilla and chocolate. It is a tad runny, so I think I need to up the chia seeds. I am thinking of blending it next time and adding frozen fruit. When I told dh about making it he went, "cha, cha, cha chia".:hilarious:
Ask a silly question......... Make it in the blender it thickens up quicker. No prob adding fruit but add a bit more seeds to compensate for the liquid the fruit releases. Good luck and:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:

It all worked out. DH takes him every morning with the bike in the car, I pick him up by bike. So this morning, DH was watching the news and they were begging people to work from home if possible and advising no unnecessary travel. He told me to be safe and take a cab if it was too bad. That ended up not being necessary. This morning, DD fell off her bike before she even got out of our street, so she ended up walking. I had to take it slow going to work until I got out of our neighborhood...then the bike paths were pretty decent. I only had to step off and walk it a couple times. Right after lunch, I got a call that DS's school was closing early due to weather, so I had to leave early to pick him up, and there was a plow on the bike path right before we got there, so it was fine until we got back to our neighborhood. It was really windy though. I guess a bunch of the taxis refused to drive this morning, so a bunch of kids couldn't get to school. Then a bunch of the ones that were left showed up at noon to get the kids...so they decided to close early. But my choir rehearsal for tonight was also canceled, so now I have to go back into work to make up for the time I missed. They were actually trying to get people to stay late this afternoon before I left, so they are swamped, and then I had to leave early. So when my choir was canceled, I offered to come back in tonight. Long day, but it will look really good at my next evaluation.
Stay safe and try and get some rest tomorrow.

Speaking of which, there's now a chia form of Baby Groot. In case you were wondering if there was anything useless you should give to your relatives. :joyfull:

Yeah. Gotta figure out that ratio. I used some of the strawberries from our garden that I froze. I did blend it. It has the texture of a thin rice pudding. Will top it with coconut whipped cream. :hungry:

ME WANT!:D

Hope your brother and family made it safe to the Netherlands and your sister got her car out @RedNoseMickey. :)
Thanks.
The most important things was my brother and his family arriving safely and they did. They were delayed for nearly 4 hours but have now arrived so we are all relieved.
My sister's car...still being held hostage by her garage robot. At the moment it looks it might be Wednesday before she can drive again.
Luckily a friend of my brother's was able to pick up my mom and sister and drive them to the accommodation we have rented for my Australian brother and the rest of the family for the next 10 days. My mom and sister were sad they couldn't be there at the airport but this was the best solution.

So my boss offered me another contract for the new year but I turned it down. She was offended I don't want to come back, took it very personally, and now things are super awkward between us.
I miss London and my friends and even my apartment so I think I am ready to go back.
I know I don't know the history behind all this, but I'm glad you know where you need to be. I'm sorry she took it personally...some people just don't know how to compartmentalize stuff like work and friendships with co-workers.

Part 9!!!

After returning from our trip, we decided to do something else after eating.

So we went to see a "halloween" style scare show at the local cementery. All related to old legends and scary mexican histories.

Things didnt go well as I got my first scare in the unusual way. I almost fainted when I tough that I had lost my ticket! D:
But after searching all my pockets found it.

The trail was so so..

The first scares were good and original but it dragged on and became repetitive.
Actors were so so, some good some bad, and so did the special effects.

Photos of some of the actors:

So in general it was ok. Not that scary at the end. (even if my sister was pretty much destroying my hand with her screaming pinches lol)

After that, we went back and went to bed for our last day.

We decided to use wake up early so we could get a meal then immediately get to a quick tour of the town of Pachuca on a tour bus. (BAD IDEA, Ill explain later). So we could get a quick snoop before we had to take our bus back to Mexico city and then directly to the airport for our flight.

We had our buffet then we waited. I had packed my entire camera gear just in case (another bad idea). Then went to take the bus.. turns out the first bus already took off and we had to wait a few hours for the next one.
So we bought tickets and went to the Museo de Mineria.

The Museum started with a nice video explaining the history of mining in detail. Then we moved to see the rocks, ores and other formations that they seen in the mountain range of Pachuca and its mining areas.
A lot of these rocks were gorgeous and very interesting.

They also had diagrams, imitations and older equipment related to mining all divided into rooms which were separated by date.
From the ancient native mining, to the modern US and Canadian mining systems.

After we were done, we ran back to get to the tour. Which was finally filling and ready to go.

The Tour took a bit to get going but then we got moved.

Now, my complains.. The bus was GOING TOO FAST on the important areas and GOING TOO SLOW because of traffic.
So since the bus has a "fixed" timeline that they cant go farter.. we lost minutes in dumb traffic.. thus not allowing us to see the important stuff better.

We visited:

  • Oldests churches in town.
  • Some monuments.
  • Old palaces.
  • Some viewing points.

And the oldest church which is tiny and now repaired on most of its fascents. Still retaining its very old original tower topper.

After visiting the town areas, we moved towards the road high in the mountains. To get to the famous "Cristo" monument. Which is a monument very similar to the famous Brazil's Cristo Redentor.

Now this es me off, because of traffic and other stuff.. they said we only had 10 minutes to view everything. not even 15 is the minimum to see all this area.. since its SO BIG and you can get up to the Cristo using stairs.

By the time I managed to take a few photos, they were hurrying to pick us up.. infact I was barely containing my anger when the f***** driver was claxoning us and already trying to drive without us.

I barely could take photos, I could NOT take photos of various angles or views I wanted.
And turns out, we were only 7 goddarn minutes on top before they were moving us away.

Should have hired a private tour, a few pesos more expensive but all the time of the world.

The area is pretty big, id say its the size of a soccer stadium not counting the parking lot.
Lots of stairs as well.
And 2 supporting buildings.

There are also some camping and picnic areas nearby.

And a video taken not by me.

After this, it was time to pack bags.
We returned to the hotel, packed our bags and we went our way to the Terminal.

Our bus took quite a bit as there was a lot of traffic.

The good thing is, this bus took you straight to the airport terminal.

So it was easy to check out and get inside the airport.
We ate some food inside before boarding and returning home.

The flight was uneventful.

Aaand the end!!

I guess it is flattering she wants me to come back so badly, I just wish she realised that I WORK for her, we are not friends, I like her but I need to do what is best for me. She acted like I was dumping her, and now I have to work with her for another week.:(

Sympathy like. You are right. You need to do what is best for you in the end. I guess you cannot work remotely for her? It is very hard to mix a business and a personal relationship. A boss is a boss no matter what. They have the ability to fire you at any time. I wouldn't take it personally. She'll get over it. When do you move back to London?

Working remotely is not an option in my line of work unfortunately. I am leaving Zurich to go to The Netherlands on 20 December to celebrate the holidays with my family. I will go to WDW leaving Amsterdam on the 16th arriving in Orlando on the 17th of January.(I am super excited:D) and back in London beginning of February. Which is when I will start looking for a new job.;)
I can deal with a week of awkwardness seeing I have so much to look forward to.
