Oh she's been fine. She's enjoying the fact they haven't had a full week of school since the second week of December.Awe, I'm sorry-you sure are having a rough health stretch. Has your DD been OK?

I think of it as a nice place to catch a nap. I don't care for it either.
Nope, you are not alone. That's one of our "let's go sit in a\c for awhile" spots. I Iike the Muppets but not that film.
9th grade science teacher was also awesome. He was a former genetics counselor and just really interesting to listen to. He's now a vice principal at the school where @brifraz used to teach. Science teacher was far too good a teacher to become an administrator.
Yep, right as I was reading a great teacher became a vice principal, that was my first thought, too...what a waste.
But, money talks.
Our Little Cesear's has a bacon wrapped pizza.
Do I or don't I?
Cuba, 1 week, all inclusive, leaving next Friday.
$2148 CAD, including all taxes and fees.
Same resort my brother and his wife were at two weeks. He highly recommended it.
Thinking ....
Things are a little better up here. Folks are not so litigious. Yet.Ahhh people were pretty darn stupid for generations back. The difference is now there is a major glut of attorney's to represent the dumb, enter lapbars.
Still haven't pulled the trigger yet.Sounds cool! Report back with some warm weather pictures!

Truth is, we really can't afford it. Doesn't mean we won't go ... just means we shouldn't.
Still thinking ....
I hope you really dont mean Houston big Texan summer.Thanks. I'd be happy with a nice Texas summer.
Still, all of us thought that he was too good a teacher to be a principal. He made science interesting and understandable, and his class was fun. He was pretty much always happy and had a smile on his face. And he loved joking around. We had a bunch of people in that class, male and female, named Alex, and he just started nicknaming them. One of the female Alex's he named Fred. Another male Alex he would just call Big +whatever color his shirt was that day. That kid liked the Orioles, so he was Big Orange a lot. I'm still friends with two people from that class (both named Alex, FYI) and we all agree that he was too good at teaching to become a principal. But since that's the route he's chosen to go, I wish him the best.Actually, the aforementioned science teacher will (in my opinion) be an AMAZING principal with vision and the ability to lead and guide people in a good direction. I can only hope that he finds a school where he can use those talents. His current work (under your former principal) is mainly of the lapdog variety and not winning him many supporters right now... but, he is just a cog in a much larger wheel which I think is not well guided from the top down (much higher than your former principal)...
I just did one, and I found it fun.I know what you are going through. I really am getting cabin fever and want to go somewhere. Trouble is no one I know can go anywhere right now, even my husband doesn't have the time off. So I'm trying to decide if I want to take a solo WDW trip or not. I haven't ever done one but it might be fun, just wondering if it is worth the $$$.
There are times that I think they close just to close. But then there were several times my senior year (after the new superintendent took over...we won't discuss him) that they sent us on time and there were accidents galore. One day my bus got stuck on a sheet of ice going up a hill. Started going backwards. Luckily, that bus driver knew what she was doing and got us turned around and out of there.Been discussing the cold delays and closings with many colleagues and also responding to people on FB. In the county where I spent the last 20 years, while they may have said they closed or opened late because of starting busses, getting heat on in schools, or so kids weren't at the bus stop before dawn in the cold, but the truth is this...in that district (and many, I fear) the administrators are so colossally afraid of lawsuits that they have an actual office of people who sit and think of things that they could get sued for. Sadly, our litigious society has many people who will gladly sue a school system because their child got sick the day after standing at the bus stop in very cold temperatures. Thus, late openings. Funny thing is, most of the people who complain about the schools closing for small amounts of snow or cold (the "in my day" people who will gladly tell you they went to school in far colder temperatures than this morning even though this morning was the coldest in this area in 20 years) are the exact same people who will complain and possibly sue when their precious little angel caught cold the day after....OK, you get the idea.
BTW, that's the "Office of Risk Management" who also came up with rules whereby no school group in that district can go to an amusement park for any reason (education or not).
And, hey! Long time, no see! Glad to be here for a quick visit tonight!!
I'm okay with that!I hope you really dont mean Houston big Texan summer.

You will be not tied by anyone. You can do whatever you want.
I was of course, still tied by the hours of the convention. But outside that.. FREEEDOOOOOOOM!
