Yup, it's a shame, but, life does not stop for a holiday. Right now, as much as I hate the current season, is when retail either makes or breaks it's year. They have to push for the biggest selling season of the year or they will not be there next year. An economic fact of life. However, when everyone is whining remember that retail is not the only one. Law enforcement, military, oh, yea and people still want to eat on those days, so food service, how about driving a shuttle around an airport to pick up happy, albeit not working holiday travelers. They don't want to walk to the rental office, which, by the way, also have to be there on the holidays. And what would we say if WDW were closed on Thanksgiving so that their "CM's" could spend the time with their families.

However, that said retail doesn't have to interrupt Thanksgiving. Those sales can be any day, but, they do have to look for the days when most people are idol. And bigger yet... we don't have to participate. Believe me, if we don't go during that time, they will pick another with the same or even better deals. They have too! It is that important to a dying industry. Just speaking for myself, if I can sit at my computer for an hour, buy everything I need and have them deliver it to my door, there isn't a store or price in the world that could drag me into that fray. Now if they will just send someone to wrap the stuff for me, I'd be in heaven.
Seeing you like to shop online go to QVC, the has an assortment of pretty bags with draw strings. Put present in pull string and write name on tag that comes with it. Not exactly somebody doing it for you but the next best thing. I no longer wrap presents. I get bags from an actual store but the same idea.

My neighbor told me the other day that they were predicting snow here for the weekend, but yesterday I didn't even need a coat. It was BEAUTIFUL. The sun was shining and I brought my coat along when I picked DS up from school, but ended up not needing it. I hope today is as nice, though it's Sinterklaas intocht (When Sinterklaas arrives by steamboat) today and if it's nice weather the crowds will be INSANE!! We avoid the intocht at all costs now, but hubby and I have a date night planned...we were supposed to go a few weeks ago when my FIL ended up in the hospital. So we're planning for tonight, but I don't want to battle thousands of excited children and their parents to get to the restaurant and movie theater. Ugh.

Oy sorry. Last fall I was riding my bike through most of November. Fall here this year has been very harsh temperature wise. While
@betty rose has had days in the 70's we have not. We have seen record cold temps broken for this time of the year. Go to the souther part of our state today and you could be out in shorts vs parkas hats and mittens. One of those years. Need @figmentfan423 slingshot.

Our trees are the fake trees so I don't have to worry about them drying out. And we have a lot of Christmas decorations so it takes awhile to put it all up so I try to do it when I have decent chunks of time.plus I do love my decorations so it doesn't bother me to have it up early. :)
I'm trying to talk my dh into a real tree this year. So far it's not going well. The boys are on my side:D

Birthday lunch was at Blaze Pizza, same as Disney Springs.
One Mushroom and Garlic, classic dough and sauce and the other is green pepper and onion and after baked a topping of Basalmic Glaze drizzled. That was really good. Their Cesar Salad is very good and nice portion. The was a smore Cookie stuffed. It was baked with our pizza.

OMG that all looks so good. Blaze was on my list of qs places to visit but we never made it because we spent more time in UNI than originally planned

I've been using Firefox for years now and have been relatively happy with it, until recently. Recently it started to take forever to go from start to finish on page establishment and also had a tendency to have a popup that will show up once every time I sign on. It sometimes has a advertisement attached to it, sometimes it just freezes up my computer if I don't catch it soon enough and delete it. It never shows up in the same time frame. Just seems random.

Anyway, yesterday they introduced a "new, improved" set-up which I hate. They guaranteed faster service, but, it's slower in many ways and less user friendly. What does everyone else use as a search engine and are you happy with it? And the popup still shows up.
I use Firefox too. I didn't like the new home page set up. I just found out that it can be edited, so it will only show the sites that I visit frequently. I noticed there was a teensy weensy edit button on the top right of the Top Sites. I clicked it and was able to get rid of everything else but the top sites. I use adblock and that helps.

The forecast was totally wrong. We did drop in temperatures and it got very windy. A trace of snow. Yea!
Those forecasters do not forecast too well even with all the fancy forecast equipment. Mother Nature likes to be unpredictable I guess. I got woken up by 30 plus mph winds this AM. It wasn't supposed to be windy until later. There was no rain in the forecast yesterday, but I checked and saw that rain will start in an hour.

Scorecard:

MOXOMUMD -- Leading the pack -- already ahead with 2018 Christmas presents! :jawdrop: :jawdrop:
Figgy -- completed 2017 Christmas shopping! :jawdrop:
MinnieM123 -- 1 bottle of hot sauce :hilarious:
Well I got sucked in by 25% and 50% off a couple of online sites. Got a couple of kiddos half done. DD10 wrote the sweetest little end note to Santa. I am trying to teach them not to ask for too many things. The whole greed thing and be happy with what you have. She only asked for 6 things and they weren't extravagant in any way. She said it was okay if she didn't receive everything on her list. She would still be happy. Made my heart melt.

But, isn't Chrome part of Firefox? or at least all connected with Google?
I think Firefox is it's own company. They always ask for donations.
I think I'm at the bottom of this table.
The only thing I bought was new computer parts to replace my failing one. XD

I dont think there will be many gifts this year lol.
On the good side. had a good trip in that mini vacation.
Vacations even minis make the best presents. Lifetime of memories. I would prefer that over "stuff", but sometimes the "stuff" costs a lot less, especially at half off.;)
I want on the score board too!! I have everything bought and wrapped. I just have some hand made gifts I need to finish.
Show off.;)

I'm not overly ahead in terms of buying gifts. I didn't put up any Christmas decorations yet although I did buy some new stuff earlier in the year. My plan is to put them up next week or the week after.

I'm only done with my younger brother for Christmas gifts. Its easy to get used video games for old systems including stuff older than some of the members on this site.

My Mom didn't had a chance to do her list because she was very busy and I only bought one thing for my dad so far. Some of the stuff I want to give him didn't come out yet.
My biggest present issue will be DS asked for a certain gaming system I had in college. Apparently what is old is new again? They brought it back and now it is sold out everywhere. Hoping it gets restocked. But now I wish I would have kept it. I know I told my dad to throw it out a bunch of a years back when he asked. It was in perfect shape too.
