Good morning to everyone! We came back late yesterday. My sister was in a really great mood, and we had so much fun. We had an afternoon margarita each day. The bartender gave us seconds free, he was awsome and really funny. The ship has changed a few things, that I didn't like Kate Spade went in where the cupcake place was. I missed the little cupcakes. The shows were top notch as usual. Now, the disappointing....the cabins are really beat up, and the carpeting in the halls is dingy... like Cesar said, they are trying to sell stuff pretty much none stop. The cruise director was very boring. Nothing like the first cruise....Mr. Scary was on top of his game and all over the boat, and was so funny...he made that cruise. We will do more research before we take another cruise, definitely not on the Oasis, it needs to go back to the port and have some things fixed. Mainly the cabin bathrooms, the water in there smelled...awful....same in sister's cabin. No cold water to brush your teeth, I went to bottled water to brush. The cabin stewards were wonderful, but way overworked, the same in the dining room, great servers. They were very nice and funny too. I would love to see that the head waiter would not get after the servers, right in public. This server wasn't ours...but that ruined that meal for us. Do that kind of stuff after the service is over. Not in public. That should not be for public display. Just my opinion. There are better places to review someone's performance. Hubby, we all call him Mr. Lucky...won 500.00$ in the casino, and he won a 6 day cruise in the casino too. He has this special touch I guess, as I have mentioned before...he won in Las Vegas, 13,000$ playing Keno...he got 9 out of 9 numbers, his Mom was very lucky too. That's all for now. Pictures will be coming later today....hubby has to download them . It will take me time...but I hope to do ketchup. Later...it's time to do as @Figment423 says start on the mountain of laundry. I hope everyone is doing well...xoxo missed you.
I swear Royal sometimes seems to follow the disney Parks method (aka trying to get the cents instead of your dollars) with the onslaugh of vendors, also the poor maintenance.
It wasn't that bad for us, but nowhere close to Disney quality thats for sure.

But we had to use the OASIS for our itinerary as we wanted to see PR.

Well hubs broke his ankle in two spots, but there was no displacement of the bones. But it is his right ankle so no driving for 6-8 weeks. That is a huge bummer especially with his job he has to drive around quite a bit.
Sympathy like for both of you. Any break isn't good but at least he didn't need surgery. Are you going to have to pick up all the slack driving or are there people in the congregation he can count on. I hope the latter for your sake. Also I hope your family has the same tradition as mine for a broken bone, a trip to Disney where the breakee and the caregiver both pick a day and get to do all the planning for it. {{HUGS}}, prayers and pixie dust xoxo

Thanks. I will be picking up some of the slack but there are a few people we can count on. But I will now be doing most to all the work at home. Hubs is concerned about his Christmas decorations for outside, he now doesn't think he will be able to do a lot. We don't have the Disney tradition because neither of us have had broken bones before. I do have a solo trip planned for Disney in 12 days, hubs is insisting I still go.

The last thing he should worry about is decorating! Have him watch Charlie Brown early if need be. Can you get the "important stuff" done without him? As for you going only you 2 can make that decision but if he was brave he deserves a Dapper Dan day at some point when he's better

Yeah, there is not small or local in my town. I buy gas almost always in my town, tax revenue. Have car washed in town and we have a pub and a 7/11. We do have a very good tiny bakery, awesome. Still they are over the top expensive so I tend to pass over-plus the owner lady is evil, can't stand how she speaks to customers or her revolving door help so there is that too. She has an real good product but still.
Part of having a successful business is customer service. If you are rude to people, they aren't going to want to give you their money, good product or not!

I went to see my Primary Care Doctor today, and she did an EKG in the office. She also referred me to a cardiologist, and I have a January 2nd appointment there. In the meantime, I am scheduled for an echocardiogram on Monday of next week. She added another pill to me for my elevated blood pressure, and I will begin taking cholesterol medicine. Didn't want to do that last thing, but we will see how I react to that. My doctor also requested that I put off my cataract surgery until after my appointment with the cardiologist.
Did she give any indication about what the problem is? I mean obviously you must have higher blood pressure and cholesterol issues, but does it all add up to a diagnosis or is that what the other stuff is for? Good luck! I hope everything is ok!!

So DH took DS to school this morning for his first day in the new school. (I had a thing at DD's school) So he apped me that they got there and a girl DS knows from Chess came up and just took him under her wing, telling him where he could put his bag, and inviting him to come play tag with her and some other kids. Already a great start. I picked him up and asked him how his day was and he smiled so big and said "GREAT!" and I almost cried because I don't think he has EVER had a "great" day at school before. He made 4 friends...one of whom was assigned as his buddy to help him get used to the rules and the agenda, etc. So far, so good.
And my FIL got to go home today. YAY!!

I'm finally done cleaning the kitchen, phew. I even took down and washed the coffee mugs nobody is allowed to use, they're from Disney and are for show only. (The year ones and a couple of Figment ones) Remind me next time I do one of the crazy cleanings to hire somebody, behind the fridge is not fun:banghead:
One of those unnecessary chores, I figure. Unless something is lost I see no need to ever move a refrigerator or stove. Let sleeping dirt lie, is my motto.

Welcome home!! So glad you enjoyed it...sounds like more than you were expecting, too, so that's great! We missed you! So the cruise that your DH won...is that a Disney Cruise? Can he choose where he wants to go?
I totally agree with you about the evaluation of the servers....that should not be done in front of the guests. That should be done in the back.

Happy Halloween! We had our trick this morning, hubs missed a step going into the basement and took a tumble down the stairs. He can barely walk. So we are at the hospital and he is waiting for an x-ray. Hope nothing is broken.

And it sounds like all you east coasters had your trick yesterday with those storms! Stay safe everyone!

Sounds like we all need a treat now!
Oh no!!! I hope he is ok!! That doesn't sound good at all! I think he needs some halloween candy to make him feel better!!

He sometimes worries about the weirdest stuff. Actually I was just thinking the other day that it might be kind of nice not to have all our decorations up this year, so much work. So this might be a good excuse not to put everything up. I do most of the inside decorating, but he always brings the tubs up out of the basement. I'm glad that I bought more tubs last year when I packed away decorations, I bought more tubs so I wouldn't pack them as heavy. So now they won't be super heavy for me to carry.

Maybe I'll recruit some of his confirmation students to help put Christmas decorations in the yard, and they can use it for their community service.

We do have a March trip planned so that can be his reward for being brave.
