So, you have a separate middle school and high school? Ours was together because it was such a small town. But here, it's kind of different...like, it's all one school, but there's a sort of middle school wing, or a separate campus, depending on the school you choose. So it's still part of the same school, but has more of a broad curriculum to give the students exposure to a lot of different areas to narrow down what they want to focus on when they get to the actual high school level. If DD and her best friend both decide to do the dual immersion VWO, they will have all their classes together because there are only about 25 students who do that program each year and it has its own curriculum and teachers, separate from the rest of the school. So that would be amazing for DD...have her best friend in all her classes.
Ours have separate buildings for middle and high school both have computer and science labs. STEM is a big deal here:joyfull:. One district over getting a sports scholarship is a big deal here it's academic. We also have a rather good music program:joyfull: Our art program isn't the greatest but if an individual shows real talent they have bused and paid for college art classes. We also have a top notch special ed department. We do pay a bit more in property taxes compared to the other district and I've been asked why we live here more than once why we'd choose to live in a slightly more expensive district:banghead::banghead::banghead: It's also the district where quite a few teachers choose to live in from surrounding areas.
Good luck to your dd and her bff xoxo

I had a friend who was in her late 30s when she got pregnant...she had wanted a baby so badly and she was so excited. Then she had the baby and it wasn't what she thought it would be like. So when I got pregnant, she felt she had to inform me of everything, but it was so funny because it was stuff that I've known since I was a kid...like "Did you know babies wake up to eat every 2-3 hours to eat? Even at NIGHT!!" Yes...yes I did. "Why didn't anyone tell me that! I didn't know I would have to wake up in the night to feed him! And all they do for the first few weeks is eat and sleep! I couldn't play with him or anything! He had no personality." And then she started telling me what was normal and not normal about my pregnancy...no...it wasn't normal for me to have to go to the bathroom a lot. I said yes, it was completely normal. No, she insisted it wasn't, because it didn't happen to her. If it didn't happen to her it wasn't normal. I changed the subject.

I was pretty apathetic to the idea of having kids, and it was really rough for the first few weeks, but in my experience having my daughter with me is well worth any hardships. I love her more than I ever thought I could love another human being. People forget to balance their doomsday scenarios with the fact that your body responds with oxytocin and love.

I was terrified hearing all the horror stories almost scared me out of having kids but I was one of those annoying people who glowed for 9 months gave birth went home the next morning and cooked myself real food. Runs and hides under large rock. Labor was long and boring both times but not painful, runs and hides under even larger rock. James was born during a month long heat wave and my doctor was worried about the heat bothering me and she couldn't understand my blood pressure didn't go up at all. I might as well just find a boulder:oops:

I'm like that with baby sleep. My daughter slept through the night starting at around 2 months old, and has done so ever since. She naps well, and sleeps well, and on the weekends she plays quietly in her bed until I'm ready to get up for the day. I can't ever talk to any of my mom friends about it, because they all hate me for it, LOL

You have NO idea how happy this makes me, though. My daughter should be out of the Princess Sofia phase by then, which means we might get away with not purchasing another streaming service.
Be warned there's going to be a big Frozen push in 2019 with Frozen 2 coming out. An animated series launching with the service would not surprise me at all. For a very long while we had Disney Family Movies added to our cable for $7 a month it was worth every penny for a selection of mostly older movies and shorts. My boys got to see what I grew up with:joyfull: My decision will be based on what's available on the service. I'm hoping for a mix of old and new movies and Disney and Disney XD shows for a fair price.

both my boys slept through the night about that age but it didn't stop me from getting up and checking quite a few times.:banghead::banghead::banghead: What is this nap you speak of? My older ds only took those until about 18 month and my younger PITA until about a year old:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Hey, I totally understand what you're saying. I had two kids and never felt any pain at all during both births. My wife, on the other hand, tended to get a little grumpy, but, I think she was just looking for attention. ;):angelic:

Oh boy, if I had a dollar for every time last year even that my phone wouldn't connect to the Disney network...I could have paid for our resort stay! It was terrible! When we got there, we gave the resort my husband's phone info to send the text because my phone just would not connect. We never did get the text that our room was ready. But it seemed only ONE of our phones worked at any given time, if we could get one to connect. Their system is still not great.

WDW's has gotten better since last summer. At least it seemed better to me. When I was at Disneyland a couple weeks ago their wifi for terrible, they basically just have hot spots around the park, and even in those hot spots it wasn't that great. And what made me a little angry about that is the the wifi was put in for their new Max Pass system, in which most people have to pay for the service if they want digital fast passes. It seemed to me that if people are paying extra to have a system in which they can use the wifi it should be reliable. Not that guests at Disneyland have to use the Max Pass, they can still run around the park and do paper fast passes for free.

I wish, but no contact from the company. Its been raining daily and the phones are worse. No news from my mother's friend who has a son working nearby (in Cayman Islands)
Wow, no rain to nothing but rain. Hope it lets up. And if they passed over you, they don't know what they are missing. It takes a special kind of awesome person to be able to help with all of our computer woes and questions in a way that can be understood long distance.

This is the kind of dinner that I love. My mother used to cook these types of casseroles. Sometimes, she'd also throw in some carrots or peas, but I'd always pick those out and banish to the far side of the plate. Then, I'd eat the delicious casserole as it was meant to be eaten--meat, spuds, stuffing and gravy! :hungry: :hungry:
Peas and carrots on the side. Hubby doesn't like veggies very much!

No more Flonase for you! Thinking about you today, and hope all goes well. Hoping it isn't too awkward. Have you met the new beau before?
She dated him through high school; off and on. I couldn't remember him when I saw him. My long ago stroke has left me with selective memory. He is one of the guys that she dated, that I liked. He is so kind to the boys and dd and us. I don't know if this will work out or not. But, daughter is doing much better.

Sympathy like, Bets.
I took Flonase for about a week several years ago and don't remember any intense side effects, but, we're all different. Plus, I have slept since then ;), so I may just not remember the side effects. :cyclops:
Hope you and the Doc can get the meds dialed in and you feel better soon...! :)

Also, hope the visit with DD, GSs, and DDs boyfriend went well...! :)
It went well. He is such a nice guy. His daughter is coming out this week-end. To meet daughter, and the boys.
