Yep, all 3 times DWifey had a private room. I could come and go as I pleased, get snacks for us, and I also slept in the recliner next to her bed.
Bringin' back memories...! :)
I wish my husband had been allowed to stay with me!! He would have if they'd have let him. They let him in long enough to carry my bag in and put it in one of the closets and then shooed him out the door until the next morning.

DWifey was in labor for about 15 hours with oldest DD. Only ice chips for her the whole time, and I definitely didn't eat in front of her. She was already a week late so the Doc decided to induce. They almost sent us home at one point 'cause DWifey wasn't dilating like Doc wanted her to. But, a couple hours later everything fell into place, and DD was born at 10:54p at a healthy 8lb. 8oz.

DS was a whole different story. He had to be taken via c-section very early in the pregnancy. He was born weighing only 1lb. 4oz. and spent 4.5 mo. in the NICU.

Youngest DD was also a scheduled c-section baby, but, she was born at a healthy 7lb. 13oz.

We originally planned on having 4 kiddos (DWifey and I both come from 4 sib families), but, with our 3 being only 3yrs. and 2mo. apart from oldest to youngest, and with DS having special needs, we decided we already had our hands full enough and were plenty happy with our 3...! :)
I was very much like you DD. Except I was nearly two weeks late, and if I hadn't come when I did, they would have induced my mom the next day. It took 17 hours, and labor started at 4 am. I was 8.5 pounds.

My brother was about a week early and was an emergency C section. He was more like 6 pounds. My mom was disappointed; she said she could have shot him right out. :hilarious:

Bummer.
Yep, it was definitely great that I got to come and go as I pleased.
I was able to go home, eat, shower, etc.
And, after our first child, of course, I also wanted to spend time with the older kiddo/kiddos (mom and pop were taking care of them otherwise).

3 days:eek: 24 hours was long enough, thank you very much. After James I was packed up and ready to go waiting in the lobby for my get out of jail papers.
My mom was in for four days with my brother. My dad obviously couldn't stay with her because he had to be home with me. My aunt and grandma from his side were there a good bit. Her blood pressure had spiked and they wanted to make sure she didn't have it happen again. Then she had a hernia repair right after, and she had to have help at home because she could not pick up my brother. Someone had to hand him to her and she had to sit down with him the entire time. Pretty sad; I was allowed to pick him up before she was.

9-11 happened a week after my brother was born. She doesn't remember it at all, and she told me a few days ago that she and my dad didn't let me watch the news until about 5th grade. They would watch the 11 pm news after I was in bed.

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious:
It was talked about letting DWifey going no more than 2 weeks late, but, then, when the Doc (Ob-Gyn - or, as I used to call him, Obi-Wan ;)) did a sonogram he decided to induce at a week late because he said DD would be at 9lb. pretty quick.

Wow.
I have watched sooo many hours of videos of gyroplanes and instruction over the last few weeks. My only goal is to eventually get to fly them myself. A few days ago, I first watched a video of the guy I went up with ending in a lesson that started as a day lesson and turned into a night flying lesson. It was BEYOND SOOO COOL...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Sorry for repeating myself sooo much, but, just want to fly...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Happy farm Market Saturday:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: @Gabe1 I hope yours is open with some goodies today
I hit the farmers' market yesterday. Good news, the peaches are in! They need another day or 2, but they are currently ripening in my kitchen. Bad news, I overheard one of the sellers telling someone it is a bad year for tomatoes this year. Suddenly the few I have ripening on the vine in my backyard is very important. Might be the only "real" tomatoes I get all year.

@Songbird76 We have never been to Boma before. Always looked at it and tempted to try but never got there. As we are doing the dining plan this year it makes sense to try places like that and the times lined up for the adr's. The first two visits are just the two of us and the second breakfast is with the people we are meeting and was their choice ( such hardship going back there)
ADR's? Dining Plan? :jawdrop:

Cat update:

Ended up with both cats in my room again last night. They chased each other around, wore each other out, and both went to sleep not on top of me. They woke me up at 5:30 to be let out (I trained Belle to ring a hanging set of bells on my door when she wants out; Jasmine's already picked up on it). Then at 10 am, Belle started meowing at my door, so I let her in. We cuddled for a few minutes, then Jasmine started meowing, so I let her in. Then they decided it was playtime. The latest game is knocking each other off my bed. Mostly Belle knocking Jasmine off my bed. Then Jasmine left and Belle and I cuddled.

Yesterday, Jasmine discovered my brother's room. Walked across his laptop's keyboard. Naturally. As a cat is supposed to. :hilarious:

My DS was 10 days late...also 8.5 lbs. I do have to say, he was much easier than DD...I had to push for an hour and a quarter with her. DS...4 minutes. Still, I'd take the slower with pain meds any day over the quick labor where I thought I was going to die.

The first day they induce me with pitocin and it didn't work. The next day they tried again and I went into labor. After pushing for six hours she finally came out. I had to stay an extra night because I had an emergency episeotomy because we almost lost her. She's all I can have so I feel blessed. 6 lbs 5 oz 23 in long
