Oh that must be the Nathan's hog dog contest on Coney Island, right? Wish I knew it was on--I would have tuned in, too! But that's o.k. -- they always show the 2 finalists on the news in the evening--I'll catch up! :joyfull:

Hey, you must be happy that you can use the beaches now in NJ--saw that your governor finally signed a budget this morning, so that families could enjoy at least the holiday down on the beach (even if they couldn't use the beaches for the past few days, of a long holiday weekend for many . . .  )
It didn't get done in time for us:mad::mad::mad::mad: My mil lives not far from one of the parks with a nice lake and we were going to go Monday and drop the boys afterwards. Today did us no good my dh has to get up for work in a bit. I know a few people who went out to Long Island or Maryland instead of the shore and one of them lives by the shore. Most beaches aren't state run, but most of the lakes are. Rant over

I wonder who won? because I know in the last 5-10 years, there has been always a competition between an american dude and a japanese ultra slim dude, who somehow can swallow 70+ hotdogs x_x
The American dude Chestnut. The slim guy got thrown out a couple of years ago for going against the rules of that line of competition. Who knew there were a couple of leagues besides my boys:confused: The curry contest is in a few days:facepalm:

@Songbird76 I love the Minnie Ears on dd.:) I did that with one of my girls a couple of years ago. Didn't stay in place very long though.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes from all.:) We had a quiet one at home since we are going to the world in 10 days. :eek:Not even packed.:eek:
DD's stayed all day. I watched a video tutorial on Cute Girls Hairstyles (youtube channel) to learn how to do it and DD's hair was all the way down her back and there was a copious amount of hairspray used. The hardest part was stuffing all the extra hair up into the loops because she had so MUCH extra hair, it almost didn't fit. But it DID stay in place. One of the Photo pass photographers took extra pictures of just DD because she thought it was so cute.

@Songbird76 did you and your daughter donate hair this year? I remember you mentioning you've done that before
Yep. We chopped it all off in September. We weren't happy. This was the picture we brought in to show what we wanted.
ASHLEY%20GREENE.jpg

This is what she got:

14053735_10154005290709671_2510681991759642420_o.jpg

I got a plain pageboy haircut straight across and the gal just kept telling me otherwise I'd have layers and she insisted I didn't want layers. I told her straight across the back, but some layers to fringe my face, gave her the picture so she could see what I meant. She kept saying "But then you'll have layers in the front." and I'm like...yeah...so? And I made her do it even though she didn't want to. I'm paying for it, it better be what I want. It wasn't at all what I asked for, but it was better than the pageboy that made me look 55 years old. (Nothing wrong with looking 55...as long as you're not just shy of 40) She had it cut, dried, everything and was like "TA-DA!! Isn't that nice?" And I was like..."no...fix it". And she started in on "But then you'll have layers." I got out the picture again.. "THIS. This is what I want. And yes, I know I already have bangs so ignore the sweep of bangs and just give me the cut as shown in the picture." DD loved hers at first but gradually came to the conclusion that she did NOT like having thick bangs, and it was NOT what she asked for. She's been working on growing them out. She wants to wait a while before her next donation...and I don't think we'll go back to that place for the next cut.

Did you have any sort of sign or a way for people to see that the money was for a particular thing? I've found people tend to be a bit more generous if they understand what they are funding rather than just you trying to get some money out of your old things. But then people over here don't do yard/garage sales at all, nor bake sales, etc. But I sold more GS cookies when I was younger if I could tell people a bit about what we did with the money. It makes people feel more personally invested.
I don't think that for some people it would not have mattered if they knew we were raising money for a cause or for ourselves personally. Some did not speak English very well. I won't go further than that.

Do you think they'd have a Rapunzel or Moana in my size?
Yes. Some of those dresses are pretty dang large in children sizes.

I bought cotton bike shorts from JCP this week 95% cotton from t
The food looks good. I'm having BBQ today. The dinner menu has BBQ pulled pork Sandwiches, Fresh peas from Farmer's market, Jello with Mushmallows and German chocolate Cupcakes for dessert.

I know my favorite Frozen Custard place has 2 fourth of July themed Flavors of the Day, but I'm not going there today. One is called All American Cherry. All American Cherry has Blue Berries, Cherries, and Vanilla Custard. I didn't see any pictures of it online.

The other flavor is Birthday Cake Custard. Here is a picture of it:

That is actually near where my DS had his at University-Disney College Program interview.

Oh, no doubt they have some great stuff. It's been a while, but, I remember their beer section bein' awesome...!!! :D :)
They've just always been very pricey, and then there was that whole price-gouging thing up north a few years back. The last time we were in one was about 1.5 years ago. They've been such a large player in that area of the industry for so long, I'm just surprised, based on sheer volume, they don't offer things at more reasonable prices.
Anyway, hopefully Amazon can get 'em back on track, as, from what I understand, their market share had kinda' leveled off over the last few years, or so. It has always been a great concept, they just need to dial it in...! :)

Whole Foods is supposed to open up Step Sister stores called 365.

2 in Texas, Houston & Cedar Park, FL-1, OH-3 Akron, Toledo Akron, IN, IL, WA, OR, CA In attempts to reach other markets that mock WF's as
WholePaycheck.

I like their wine choices but rarely buy there. I've more used them in a pinch.
Their produce is top notch, I find their pastry disgusting and their prepared food so out of reach of my budget.

We feasted from their hot food bar after the Army Ten Miler and it was phenomenal!! Even though the green beans were the best I've ever had, I haven't been able to justify the price since. It's odd when a grocery store hot food bar ends up in the list of "special occasion only" :greedy:

Ha!! My uncle used to call me Gertrude just to make me mad. "My name NOT GERTRUDE!"
I used to do that with my daughters BFF when they were young. Her name was Jennifer, so logically I called her Jeffiner. She would get so angry she would grit her teeth and growl out that her name was Jennifer, not Jeffiner. I, of course, would apologize for my error and tell her it would never happen again. I'm sure you figured out that I didn't stop doing that until she was old enough to yield a knife. She and my daughter are still close and they are both in their 40's now. She and I always referred to her as Daughter #3. To this day, if something happens between myself and one of my daughters she lobbies to be moved up from #3 to a 2 or 1 depending on the source of the rift.

That's the first I've heard of plans since the sale to Amazon. Cedar Park, Texas is literally 2 miles down the road from us on a main highway.
When we we're at that WF about 1.5 years ago, under the guidance of oldest DD, I remember we purchased some pre-seasoned organic chicken , yogurt, coconut water/milk, and a few other things. It was all really good, but, yes it was also $$$$$ :greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy::greedy:.

As I've posted before, oldest DD is vegan and SonIL is an omnivore. Even they don't shop at WF very often...real estate is a bit pricey 'round here these days :cyclops:, and their trying to find a house to buy...!  ;)
