So...may be ending up with another cat. My aunt and uncle separated, and she couldn't take her cats with them. My uncle has stopped caring for them, and they're living outside. My cousin is taking one, but the other needs a home. My aunt is going to try to find someone locally, but if she can't, it appears I'm getting a cat. My cousin in law would bring up the cat in a few weeks when she comes up. I told my mom, and she agreed; we'll take the cat. Dad will...get used to the idea. I told Mom I would pay for vet visits and food like I do with Belle, so Dad would probably be more agreeable since it means it wouldn't cost him anything. I've met that cat. She's super sweet, laid back, not aggressive, so I think she and Belle would get used to each other. We'd be careful to introduce them correctly.

But I would have to watch for the cat to run out the door. I don't have to worry about it with Belle because she won't go outside. But once that other cat lives with me, she'll be strictly indoors with some walks on a harness. No if, ands, or buts about that one.

I found them for $1 a piece here. I would have bought more if I were here longer.

I just did a quick search of the local store we mainly use. The small Hass variety there are $0.78 each, the large $1.68 each. They also have a bagged 5 and 6 count option (no size indicated) that are $4.98 and $5.98 each, as well as "organic" that are (no size indicated) $1.48 each, a 3 count bag for $4.46, and cocktail avocados (no size indicated, and never even heard of them :cyclops:) at $8.99 lb.

'Scuse me, I have to rant. Hope y'all don't mind lol.

This week was the week from hell at work. I work at a toy store and part of my job is being in the backroom bringing out all the product that may or may not be on the floor and well...it can be tedious, especially if you're hit all at once. Not to mention my supervisor was on vacation and the store manager that came in a few months back is a delegater. Also if he calls you over the walkie and you're not up front fast enough, he calls you every 30 seconds. He's a good dude, but that crap irritates the holy hell out of me. That being said, I had to work with just him for 3 days this week and my god...he literally drove me up a wall. There was a point where I had to tell him that he and the girls up front had to give me a chance to bring the product up because A. I had to literally dig something out because the backroom was a mess and B. he was calling over the intercom every 5 seconds because I wasnt there and the walkies were acting up. Not to mention we're understaffed at the moment and I essentially have 40 things on my plate every time Im running the back so it can get stressing.

What really killed my mood is losing out on a promotion for a department supervisor position I had applied for back in January. A friend of mine was retiring at the end of the year last year and flat out told me that she had wanted me to take her spot because she wanted someone who knew what they were doing to run it, and I know the section of the store that she had. This is where I feel like myself and a few others in my store got literally screwed over. We had to do re-interviews for that spot this past week with the current store manager (who came from another store) and decision day was yesterday. Well...that decision turned out to be a chick from the store that he used to work at, and he and that store manager are like best friends. So I feel like I got screwed because he picked someone his best friend recommended, and I've decided I'm not gonna bust my like I've been doing for the past 6 months because of it. I did meet the girl who got promoted today and well, she doesnt seem like the most cheerful. I guess it's because she's in a new store and doesnt really know anyone, but the people that are there now all get along and crack jokes and what not with each other. I have a feeling she wont last.

That sounds really sucky. For what it's worth that hiring thing happens all the time in the corporate world as well. 99% of the time they go through the whole process of resumes and interviews and second interviews when they've had someone internal ear marked for the job from the beginning.

The worst part is, the girl who got chosen was a cashier in the electronics dept. at the other store and somehow she was qualified enough to be shot up to a supervisor position in the baby and preschool toys dept. I asked her what she needed help with this morning and the answer I got was "I dont know". That's typically not the answer you should be giving someone.

YUP first prize all my dh got was some grill trays from the boys

Those are great, too!!! :)
Frankly, they could have just given me a card, or even just a happy Father's Day wish, and that would have been sufficient...I already know my family loves me very much and they know I feel the same about them...!!!
Although, next year, I am indeed lookin' forward to my supersonic flight in an F/A-18 Superhornet...!!!!! :hilarious: :D ;) :)

So do you think the two cats that live together will miss each other? or maybe just be happy to have loving homes again? Kinda sounds like everyone might have to be on guard to keep the kitty indoors.

That looks so cool!!! Love the sneakers by the way.:)

Thanks! It was (sorry so late...again :cyclops:) indeed sooooo very cool. Again, it's a very stable flight platform, and is impossible to stall. I felt so happy, safe, and free from start to finish...after all, it's fun to be free...!!!!!:D  ;)

Also, thanks on the sneakers, too!
I initially bought them for our Feb. of '16 Princess 5K WDW trip, and they have held up well...! :)

Well, therein lies the catch. Do we really know where stuff comes from? Do we really know what organic means? Or do we just like the sound of it, because it sounds healthy, and just go for it because of that. I'm not saying it is true or that it isn't better, maybe it is. I just wonder how people know where their food comes from all the time and if they are being conned into paying more for something that really has no true significance even if it is truly organic. Whenever, I buy a bottle of bottled water the thing that crosses my mind first is I wonder if they used the kitchen tap to fill this or the bathtub. (or even maybe a garden hose)

I think way back in time before the word organic came into play the company I had the most respect for was Gerber (baby food) They went through some great lenghts to do soil tests on the farms that were allowed by Gerber.

Yes. I believe there is some fraud still happening with the whole Certified Organic, also believe far less than before.

And the garden hose brought me back to my teens. A trip to Acapulco.
We drank Coke by day and Margaritas by night. There was a glass water cooler in the hallways for guests. I got up early one morning and went to fill the pitcher to brush our teeth. There was a gardener filling up the glass water cooler with the garden hose. :jawdrop::banghead::facepalm:

It was amazing! You need to make the cauliflower for sure. They were on sale at the supermarket when I went Saturday and now I am sad I did not get more. :( I kind of winged the crabless cakes but can tell you the ingredients with some measurements.
4 or 5 yukon gold potatoes shredded, 4 carrots shredded, half a large onion or diced, fresh chopped parsley. Squeeze out the water from the potatoes and combine all the first ingredients. In food processor put in one can of white cannelini beans, lemon juice, dijon, old bay seasoning, a cup of breadcrumbs( I had homemade and they needed to get used, but you can use oat flour or garbanzo bean flour I am sure), a tablespoon potato starch, tsp of baking powder. Puree all that and then mix it in with the potato, carrot, and onion. Make a flax egg mixture(2 Tbl flax seed with 6 Tbl water) and mix that in. It will be doughy. Drop in heaping scoops onto parchment on a cookie sheet. I made 16. I cooked in the oven at 415 and flipped once after 20 minutes. I think I let them go another 10.

To this omnivore anyway, that actually sounds really good...!!! :hungry:
