I hate giving rawhide to my dogs. Too. Ad for these pups though.

I agree with you. Probably 99% of the people would be wonderful, but you just never know about that other 1%. :cautious:

Now, not the same thing here, but this does remind me of a few years ago, when I was out walking the dog. Sometimes, a person will approach and ask if they can say hello or pet him. That's fine.

But there was that one day that I was walking Jack in a park, and a man was sitting on a bench. I walk by him and the guy springs up from the bench, says "hi" and stuffs something into the dog's mouth! I was stunned and wanted to clobber the guy. (Jack, of course, was merrily munching his free treat, oblivious to my near meltdown with this odd stranger. )

I yelled at the guy and demanded to know what he gave my dog. He got all nervous and showed me a small bag of dog treats. (I think the guy was a bit soft to begin with . . .). I told him to never do that again to anyone's dog, without asking first.

In conclusion, he was in the 1% odd, exception group, out of all other nice people I've met while walking the dog. But, again, you just never know . . .

Yep. We've all met some weirdos. Walt knew the houses of the locals that would feed him. He even received special treats from some on Halloween purchased just for him. Never had anyone force feed any of my willing Pups. I'd be ticked too

When the DS was less than 2 months old I had him at Woodfield Mall in his stroller (laying flat on his back-infant ya know) he was doing that infant scream/meltdown and we in route to go back home. An elderly woman was sitting on a wall with her hubby. Old Biddy leaps off the wall puts her head completely into stroller inches from my infant sons face and screams at him as loudly as anyone can scream SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Get away from my baby (people now watching her) and I turned and looked at her husband and asked what are you thinking bringing this woman out into to public situations? Get her out of here now before she does something more inappropriate to another infant or I will call security. Then stared at him with a well????? Never forgot that one.

All of my Pups loved Rawhide. The only ones I would not give them were those green things or the ones that have shapes, looks like sawdust pressed together. Both those always made my Pups sick.

After all those cats and dogs died several years ago from so many types of treats that had a liquid beef flavoring additive that was a toxic poison I always looked for the Made in the USA label.

So glad I am going with my grandma tomorrow to SC and that she's not going by herself after this conversation...

Her: Should I lock my suitcase?
Me: No. If you do that and the TSA decides to inspect it, they'll break the lock.
Her: What's the TSA?
Me: o_O
Usually, most of the locks in suitcases are TSA approved (the TSA already has the master key to all these locks)

That really would have scared me if with the treats. In Minneapolis a person was putting arsenic in dog treats and hotdogs and throwing them in the peoples yards that's why that would scare me.

That also happened out here at one point. So I also have that in the back of my mind when a stranger gives something to my dog without asking first. You just don't know nowadays . . .

That's funny! :D

About the locks, if you use a TSA approved lock, they have the master keys to all of those. I think the combination locks are more prone to getting cut. This is not to say that they haven't cut a TSA approved (key) lock (they have sometimes--never mine, by the way), but it's far less prevalent.

One of our execs. travels quite a lot, and only once had his lock cut. The other times they locked it back up, and put a notice inside his luggage that TSA had completed their inspection.

Got my confidence level raised a little bit from a job saying that I was number 2 on the to hire list. But I would have to drive sometimes and in the Boston area. :jawdrop:

No offense @MinnieM123 Terrible drivers but you take the T so. I was up by 93 today  It's like construction everywhere. I can't get away from it.

giphy.gif

Between the ongoing road work, construction, too many vehicles on the road, and distracted/lousey drivers, I have never once driven into the "big city" :jawdrop:. I'll take any form of public transit, or hubs would drive me, or I'd get a taxi if all else failed..

Now, hubs doesn't mind driving in the mayhem--but you have to understand that over 25 years ago--for a few years, he was a Boston cab driver, and also dispatched for one of the cab companies. So he was used to driving crazy. :p

All the above aside, if you get offered a really good job and only have to drive to the city once in a while, take the job. If you must drive into the city, just give yourself a lot of extra time. You'll be fine! :) Fingers crossed--I hope you get the job.

Except she hasn't travelled since before 9-11, so I'd rather just tell her no locks.

Thank you for posting that. We never give Jack rawhide, because our vet told us to never give that to dogs. Some dogs can get blockages from undigested, larger pieces. No thanks--no rawhide!!

5 dogs, not one blockage. I guess it is like kids, everyone is different. My pediatrician said no hot dogs cause kids choke on them. Never did. My DS choked on a lifesaver.

My DD choked (infant Heimlich by my nurse friend)she accidentally took on too much cheese off top of a pizza. Second time my DD choked just she and me were in our Disney resort room getting ready to meet the boys, she was about 7 years old. She had got one of those huge Pixie sticks in DTD. She tipped it back, too much went right into her wind pipe and eyes bugged out and she was rapidly turning blue. Momma to the rescue Heimlich adult version. I did it right! She shot pixie stick dust everywhere in our room.
Bought 2 little bottles of wine from the gift shop on way to bus stop for my job well done!!! AAAAHHHH!
