Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
My kids, myself, and dh always have rash guards when at the pools or water parks. Ds would actually never even think about going in a pool without a rash guard and he would never consider going without a shirt. The girls always have coverups on for afterwards. I would never let them go into a store without one on. Kids need a sense of decorum.

Decorum is lost on many.

Yeah...my mom died on the 4th of July, so there's always a HUGE reminder. The first year after she died, I had a dream about her where God let her come back for just a bit to talk to me because I was still so upset, so he sent her to tell me she was ok. Firsts are just hard.
Thanks for sharing that. It has been a flakey year. My Mom has been a a strange bird this year. Has added to all that. Glad the firsts are over.

My boys won't wear rash guards, but they get changed into street clothes as soon as they're done swimming. Come to think of it very few kids bother with them at our pool. We do have one rule swimwear is for the pool area only!

Yep. Fine with that. Even though a woman can't have that choice and I'm fine with that too. Actually prefer.

A woman can't go topless in the heart of town. A guy with the nip area exposed seems to be a belief that should be viewed by all is a concept that is lost on me. Some of these men are physically endowed more than many woman. I struggle with what the difference is????

And now we have an episode of "SWG can cook, but don't tell her parents."

Here we are:
View attachment 210567
We have a salad with avocado, cheddar and monterey jack cheese, bacon bits, and a chipotle ranch dressing.
View attachment 210566
Then we have the main course. A bacon-wrapped filet mignon cooked to medium rare and a baked potato with cheese, sour cream, and salsa.

And wine and candlelight, because darn it, I want wine and candlelight.

Oh, and I've never cut open an avocado before, and this was the result after just watching a YouTube video...

Not bad, but that Avocado looks kinda green.
Was it hard to the touch?
by the way, you can wrap them in paper and leave it outside and it will be ready tomorrow (softer)

What a great idea! Mickey Pizza!

@Cesar R M That pizza looks awesome. Well done! :hungry:

Did you have 3 people that wanted different toppings?
I made a total of 4 pizzas.
2 small and 2 big.

1 big had: Mushrooms and the other side was Salami
1 small had: Pineapple + Ham(Hawaiian) + Margarite ( Tomato slices + olive oil + spices)
1 big (the one in the old photo): was all the remaining ingredients I had left, so tossed Hawaiian + Mushrooms + Margarite
1 small one had: Salami and Mushrooms (the one in this picture)

I always end sharing the pizzas i make between me and my mother, my aunt and my sister and her family.

I never had an avocado :cautious:

Well, technical when I worked at Scrubway (Subway), I tried that version and it was nasty. Which I know real avocado is different.
Cheap places are very well known to dilute the avocado in different ways.
In some really bad restaurants for example.. they put cream and milk... :|
In others, they add a ton of veggies (specially sliced tomato) to make it look like its more than it really is...

My husband called the 401K people, and they said that our deposit was processed yesterday, and it should get to the bank in 2 or 3 days. Then why did they originally tell us, that the bank would have it by June 15th. I guess I shouldn't always believe what people/companies tell me. I am becoming cynical in my old age. Although my older son does tell me to not be so negative.

Your situation was typical, I'm afraid. If you got your situation resolved within 2 calls, that's actually quite good, on average. The problem is not so much that people will outright lie to you, but that these investment companies are so big, with so many divisions, etc., that transactions often get held up beyond the point of the first person you speak to. Happens a lot . . . happens too much . . . :cautious:

Yep, Volcano Bay looks pretty cool, no doubt!
Again, with only week-long (at most, for now) WDW vacations, it's just not something we feel a deep need to do, although, the Disney water parks look very cool, too.
Also, as you know, if we want to go to a water park, we have one of the consistently ranked best ones in the nation just down the road...Schlitterbahn...!!!!!!! :joyfull: ;)
They introduced the worlds first bodyboarding ride, and also the worlds first water coaster technology...! :)

Schlitterbahn has been featured on a few Travel Channel (type) shows of some of the best waterparks. It looks like a blast!!

Speaking of houses, my younger son drove by our house that we moved out of 31 years ago. He was surprised that our old house was demolished, and a brand new house now sits at our old address. He said the entire neighborhood was unrecognizable.

I guess this is a personal viewpoint, but it's the reason why I won't go "home" ever again. (After my parents passed away years ago, the house was sold.) I just don't think I could bear to look at any "changes" to "our" house and/or the street--where we knew all the neighbors, back then. When I was a kid, it was rare for anyone to move. We "grew up" with many families on the street, from infancy through college, etc.

Best, for me, that those moments in time remain intact in my memory, undisturbed.

I hope it gets easier for you from here on. I know you've had a hard time dealing with your mom this year, and that's a lot of added stress on you. Hopefully things will get better for HER, so they can get better for You!
