OK. I don't get it. What is with men my age that think being shirtless in public is something others want to look at?

No, it's just that after a certain age they really could not care less if you want to see them or you don't. It really shouldn't be a matter of concern for anyone else as long as other things are covered. We as a society have such hangups about the human body. It is no longer muscled and firm so it should be hidden because it's "ugly". I am far more concerned, having spent some necessary time in Men's rooms, that almost no male of any age is capable of flushing a toilet. Seems like such a simple task, yet it almost never gets done.

I'd say it's a tie between some men that don't look good without a shirt, and some women who wear skin-tight leggings--when they don't have the figure for those either.

IMO, it's not so much a matter of "concern" when we see them in public; but I do think it's just human nature to cringe when you see either group--whether or not they care about how they look.

For myself, I don't wear a bikini anymore, but I've found a lovely style that's quite becoming for all body types. ;)

I know it's not a big deal, but, the subject of body shaming comes up so many times, usually in reference to women being body shamed, but, it is still open season on men. We are objects to apparently. Not us old folks with sagging everything, but, we are set as examples of what one doesn't want to look like and if they did certainly wouldn't be seen flaunting it in public. We are ashamed if we are a little overweight, we are laughed at as we get older and things are no longer where they once were (male and female), one would think that we would have been over that by now. Guess we never will be completely.

Love the pics and ugh! I just realized we missed Country Bears this last trip. :oops:Cannot believe it. (slaps hand to forehead). Know idea how that happened.

Sympathy like.
We saw it, as always, on our last week long family trip in June of '13, but, not on our last trip in Feb. of '16 for the Princess 5K. We only spent 2 days in the Parks and didn't bother with hoppers.
Spent the day before the 5K in MK, but had to leave for a few hours at around 3p to go to the Runners Expo to get our running numbers, corral assignments, etc. We went back to the MK after that and closed it that night, even though we had to be up around 3:30a the next morning to get ready for the 5K.
Right after the 5K and our breakfast in the Runners Tent in the Epcot parking lot the next morning, we headed straight back into Epcot and stayed there 'til close that night. CBJ just kinda' got lost in the mix that first day.
I'm sure we'll catch it next trip! :)
Whenever that is... :cyclops: ;)

A CM gave us the tip a bunch of years ago on the complimentary cups. We figured we spent possible $30-50 on water for over a week for all of us because no one wanted to share. And dh and I would never share with the kids. (backwash ) We purchased only 1 bottle on this past trip. :)

I realized it on one our family trips years ago.
Can't remember if it was on our first one in '01, or not...? I just remember asking for a cup of ice tap water, figuring there would at least be a lesser charge than the bottled, and the receipt showed no charge at all. After that, all bets were off...I haven't bought water (directly, anyway ;)) from Disney since.
I very rarely drink soft drinks of any kind (coffee, tea, soda, etc.). I'm pretty much a water and beer guy...although, I will drink wine, spirits, mixed drinks, etc. on certain occasions. :)

Wonder Woman was good. Darker than the Marvels, definitely. But good. And there was Chris Pine, so...

In other news, we return to the saga of giving a cat a pill. Yesterday, she took both pills with no trouble. This morning, same thing. Tonight, she got more clever. She waited until we thought she had taken it, and then spit it out. We tried again...same thing. We eventually did get her to take it, but she was very sneaky. Then she had spit all over her face. I caught her and wiped it off, which she wasn't thrilled with.

Lesson: cats and pills don't mix.

I agree with you, definitely. It's important to find what works for your body. I've seen larger women find bikinis that flatter their body type. Me, personally, I prefer my stomach be covered. My brother is the same way. He wears a rash guard in the pool and won't take his shirt off normally, even though he'd be fine without one.

I think it's also a matter of appropriateness. I usually have no issue with men at a pool, no matter how heavy they might be, wearing a pair of properly fitting trunks in the pool. It's a pool. I don't really like the feeling of a wet shirt, so I can't blame them for not wanting to wear one. I don't think any guys, no matter how good they might look, should take their shirts off at a sporting event. A woman taking her shirt off and just wearing a bra would get in trouble, so therefore, men shouldn't be taking off their shirts either.

As a side note, I think the problem with legging for many women is that they don't buy the right size. I'm not a small woman, but I have several pairs of leggings that fit me well enough that I'm comfortable running to the grocery store or walking my street with them. For the store, I just put on a t-shirt instead of a workout shirt. Women tend to look at sizes and go "No, I must be this size!" and buy that size even though a larger size would work better. I wear a size up in my leggings from my jeans, but a size down in bathing suits. I don't really care; they're all just numbers.

I found that the water in the fountains wasn't cold. There were only one or two that were cold enough.

I can walk up to a QS and get a cup of ice water. Depending on how fast I drink it, I can get 2, maybe 3, refills from fountains before all the ice melts. Plus, I can drink warmer water. It doesn't bother me.
As my folks, who were both raised on hard-working farms, are known to say... "It's water. It don't matter if it's warm, just as long as it's wet!" ;)

Well, its something I started to notice.. the older the person gets, the less clothing and smaller bathing suit they wear.
All with this "not ashamed, dont care" type mindset.

Sometimes the traffic reporters are about as accurate as the weather reporters! :p

I've noticed that too. Major lag time on their reporting.
Just one example...
One evening last week I was heading home from the office, and the reporter on the radio said there was an accident at an intersection cleared to the side of the road in the southbound direction (I was heading northbound) of the highway I was on, but, still residual backup for a few miles.
I passed through that intersection about 2 mins. later and there was no accident cleared to the side, and definitely no few mile residual backup...the southbound portion was moving way faster than the northbound portion I was in... :cyclops:
It happens all the time. :bored:

Went out to lunch today and remembered to take pics! :) We didn't go anywhere special. Just Chili's, but I remembered that a few weeks ago I mentioned we went and I said that I had the best black bean burger ever. We ordered for the table buffalo cauliflower and I got the black bean burger. Both were super yummy. :hungry: I want the recipe for both, but I would bake the cauliflower in my house. I know, defeatest but healthier. ;)
View attachment 208283 View attachment 208285 I wish I knew what they did to get such acrust on the burger. The texture was amazing.

We really like Chili's! We've never had a bad meal there, and have been going for decades! :)
I'm an omnivore...I LUVS meat, but, I LUVS me some veggies, too! :)
Both of those sound delicious, and I've made a note to try 'em next time we're there...!!! :hungry: :)

I guess I have always been a conservative person to start with. But I'm not talking pool, though there is another 2 stories on that note. Today it was a man around my age, in the heart of town. Shorts and bare chest. Age had set in, drooping and shriving set in. To me it was more an attitude of I need attention and this is how I'm going to get it. Kinda Sad. The lack of acceptance that we had our bestest days and now I'll subject the world to the visual of aging. Note teens and young adults in the heart of town knew it is appropriate to wear a shirt, just not the aging. So much for the theory millennials being self absorbed.

Now women in Yoga Pants, or Tights I have opinion on all that. Ewe. Yoga Pants are for Yoga classes. I've worn them to Yoga Classes. No more no less. Tights, worse. Tights for generations have been like pantyhose have been under garments-not only garments or stand alone garments, again IMO.

Me it is all a crave for attention. Male or female. I'm no more a fan of men that want to display life in bike shorts at at 70 in Panera. (yes and it isn't appetizing.) Now male or female these are rare sightings in my demographic. Men in Speedo's seems to be also an aging thing at pools. You just don't see the young and mega fit. Once again it is the AARP that wants to prove the still have the goods. Me, I just scream ick and thankful for the youth that they don't go down that road.

I can remember my DD giving her Dad a couple years ago a pass to go to her WaterPark she manages under the condition that he wear his rashguard. While elderly might not care the spawn and others might. It isn't necessarily a thing about weight but the crave for attention not to cover what most do in adult life.
I see it frequently in my generation the struggle to accept we have aged and move onto more age appropriate clothing, trying desperately to relieve their youth. I am small. I wear between a size 2 or 4 clothing. But I'm now in that AARP demographic. A bikini in my own mind is so inappropriate and would make my children beyond mortified if I lacked my own good judgement that I still seem to have. I found a real cute suit that covers all sorts of imprefections that is age appropriate. No need to strut around in a bikini just cause I actually fit in one nicely. Those days have come and gone. Frankly, given up in my 20's after I became a Mom. I accept transitions. I give the Millennials credit. They seem to have been raised to care. Unfortunately those who raised them forgot what they taught them.

Exactly. I have shirts, especially summer ones that run from small to large depending on how they are cut. I wear leggings but always without my butt in view. Again I accept I am not in my early 20s. For all he complaining my generation does blankety about the millennial generation the boomers have their own self absorbed demographic that surpasses that Lacks good judgement and justifies with they don't care. The very thing picked upon of our offspring. Then again we were the first ME generation.
