I'm with you. I stopped running the day I retired from the Army, but I still walk a bunch every day.

My Dad started running in his AARP days. He ran many marathons in the early 65+ age group. Ran Boston 3 times. Did well. As he aged the damage he did to his knees and hip and ultimate hip replacement. He needed knee replacements but due to heart issues it didn't happen. So freak'n not worth the abuse to the body. I stand by my GABE does not run.

This weekend I watched one of our rookie deputies running our riverwalk with his bullet proof vest. It at first took me off guard as I was sitting on a bench and I didn't see him coming (not like me, I am normally keenly aware of my surroundings) but as the very young man with the vest past me, startled me, I then recognized him I started to wonder. Did he think he needed protection while off duty and running? Then it dawned on me, duh, those vests are very heavy. He was conditioning to run with his on.:rolleyes::oops:

And sincerely, thank you for your service. My Dad did two long tours, something he was very proud of.

I believe it depends on the resort. AKL still has lockers and showers. Stormalong Bay has complimentary lockers. My dad brings the iPad down to the pool in the morning, reads his newspaper on it, and then stashes it in a locker. They just have a simple code and you can take any one that's open. They really need them there. Most of the rooms are definitely a walk away from the pool. Some of the others I'm not sure whether they have lockers or not. I was at Boardwalk's pool in January, but don't recall seeing them.

I wonder about this. At first blush it seems to lack rhyme or reason to which resorts have or don't still have lockers. When I had asked the CMs were younger than the resort so they were looking at me like I was the one with memory issues. But since 9/11 lockers became an issue. Gone they are from Ohare Airport and our Train Terminals sadly but necessarily. We've seen what has happened with lockers in other countries. I get it. The large lockers now at Epcot are way out by the bus pick up hoops for example. They took the lockers out from under the train. I get it. The ones you mention have secured pools for a long long time already. Better odds? Still not like a terrorist couldn't book a resort room.

Oh man, I sold my share of them back in the day. Our town had fewer than 1500 people and I still managed to sell close to 500 boxes every year. I was always top seller, though and no one ever came anywhere close to that many. It was always me at 450 or so and the next person MIGHT have 50-75. I loved selling them back then. My poor mom had to drive me all over town. Granted, town was only 1 square mile or so, but still...the time involved. Yikes. I wouldn't do that today.

I'm older but our troop only received a nickle per box. The rest went back to the organization to which really didn't benifit our area or our troop. My Mom bought a few boxes and a few relatives but beyond that I didn't sell them. My Mom was even a leader but believed in more of the social aspects of GS than the fund raising. She didn't push sales. We self funded our own events and it came out cheaper than selling cookies when I was growing up.

My son was some kind of scout for a year, my DD made it through brownies but never a girl scout, so not their thing. Throughout their growing up years I had all sorts of things I could either buy out of selling which I preferred like t-ball and base/soft-ball to honor society in HS selling freak'n coupon books.
I bought them and sometimes my Mom to hit the minimum if I couldn't just buy out instead. I never imposed on family, friends or our co workers to support my kids extracurricular. I know I could have, I certainly got cornered enough as did their Dad at work but yikes! As I own my own business I always was a sponsor for our kids club swim team. I wrote a check. Done.

We downgraded our passes and haven't been to either water park because that change took place.

Wanta go to Volcano with me?

My AP still has waterparks thru September. How sad is that, that I want to go to Volcano despite having an AP to Disney waterparks? I still like them but the transportation and the failing E attractions. Oy

Just curious--are they doing the same stupid bus shuffle for the Typhoon Lagoon guests as well? After the BB fiasco, on the other days, I just swam in my hotel's swimming pool (actually there are 3 pools at the Swolfin). So I didn't even venture over to Typhoon Lagoon. I was wondering if this bus change thing was only for BB.

I still try to block out the cost of Character Meals and all the buffets. I look at what some families pile on their plate (and what is left on 3 or 4 plate loads)
crazy. I actually believe I receive better quality and more freshly prepared food when I order from a menu. My second choice to sit down would be family style. It rubs me wrong to pay Table Service price and tip (and I tip very generously) at a buffet cause it is self service cafeteria style.
I think that's why we're down to CP breakfast and TH. With the new MK opening procedure CP may also go bye bye for us:(. Seeing we have allergies I don't mind so much because we have to get walked through the line, a few things come straight from the kitchen and at TH our server was very attentive:joyfull: Plates were cleared promptly, drinks kept filled and such.

Yep. Wonder how many guests never figured out the new lockers went up $5 for going digital as at first blush it appears new lockers same price. No key to return so you don't even think of the $5. And your are correct, I can always remember a towel fee way back from when Typhoon opened. One time that happened to us as a family. From that point forward before we left for a water park we went past our resort pool, took pool towels for the family and when we were leaving the waterpark we just dumped them into the towel return by the changing house.

In the fall we experienced that convoluted bus route to Typhoon Lagoon. Take a bus to Disney Springs and then board a bus to Typhoon. OMG! It took over an hour each way and we were staying at POR, so close. The way back to the resort took for freak'n ever, so annoying. Next time we do a Disney water park Uber it will be. Did you see that Disney has hired a transportation Guru? This time from the outside to recreate Disney inhouse transportation since they are thinking light rail and gondolas for the future? Possibly by the time I'm too old to go down a waterslide they'll figure out how to get guests to the waterparks.

Yikes. I think you just answered my question I just posed to @StarWarsGirl . That "trip" to and from TL sounds even worse than the one I took to BB. And for people who are not familiar yet with the new queues down in the center of Disney Springs, there are some fairly long distances to get to your bus--because, of course--they have to include these barriers that prevent people from crossing over to their bus lane. No, everyone must walk around long circular pathways to get to their bus. This makes me crazy. I'm used to working in a big city and darting in and out of traffic, etc. ;)

Another thing--I did go to Disney Springs for the heck of it one afternoon. Still found it unimpressive. Ate lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express in the Marketplace--it was a lot better than last year's lunch, so that's good. I'm also imagining that WPE has to up their game, since all the buses now are so far away from that restaurant's little tucked away corner, way up at the beginning of the Marketplace. I wondered if the stores up there were losing some business. I like walking around (but only if it's not too hot out), but not everyone likes to walk distances, regardless of weather conditions..

Good morning, today's chores include getting the rest of my plants in and making enough banana bread baked to have enough for a couple of mornings and still have enough left so I can freeze a loaf or 2, scrambling a dozen eggs, cooking up a pound of bacon, getting 2 pots of soup cooked(neither is one I'll eat:hungover:) and some quality time with Mount Laundry. and people wonder why I like Mondays:confused:. Anyhoo it's a good thing I like yoga:inlove:

so far so good, the explanation was kinda weird.
They claimed that the program with noise reduction was not approved yet in the USA when they gave me the processor, but was activated for me because I was from Mexico. So technically it was not 100% tested. yet was given to me enabled.

At least thats what the doc explained to me. They installed a variant and newer version of that program in my replacement processor, as well as fixing the bad button and some secondary devices which had some issues with the batteries (for constant use).

I have to say cochlear guarantee service is incredible good.

Hope all works well. I hope you had some fun too and safe travels home.

I don't know about the bus shuffle for Typhoon, but I remember that the Swolphin had nice pools especially the one with the waterfall. I forgot did you stay at the Swan or the dolphin ?
