So this is apparently the new toy craze, especially at my job, and I havent a clue as to what it's actually designed to do....

supposedly just to spin them AND get you to relax..
kinda like those old balls for squeezing.

Others use these for gaming and even painting, modifying them.
Theres some jokes ones that are oversized.

Couldn't have been much. I just checked N&R and General, and no mention of it.
Fire? I missed something.

I'll go look. The evacuated the castle including the restaurant put the fire pontoon boat in the moat water. Last I heard it was fall out from Wishes but initially thought to be a fire within the restaurant.

OK @MinnieM123 and @MySmallWorldof4 I saw this on my twitter feed early yesterday morning. I saw it from Chip & Co. but they were quoting the that site 'THAT MUST NOT BE NAMED' on this site. If you Google either of those sites you will find the story. I'm not going to try and link it for those reasons. But the short of it is the fire alarms went off in the castle but fire outside the castle, likely drought related, but fire near the wishing well of the castle and smoke bleeding into the castle setting off the alarms that the Reedy Creek Fire Department reacted to. The site that cannot be named seemed to be the source of the report and likely why you will not see it in News area here. Or so I am surmising. A Google will take you there though.

.
Guess I was lucky. My mother was one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet. May she rest in peace. I miss her.

Awe. Hard week for that. Sorry.

I'm taking my Mom out tomorrow instead of taking her for that now cancelled bone marrow biopsy. As much work as she is now that is an age thing. I love my Mom and am lucky to still have her.

I have a kindle and a tablet with a few books loaded and I can get books from the library for free for them, but i still like my real books better:joyfull:

Yep, love my real books sooo much!!! :)
But, then again, I don't have a Kindle, e-reader, etc.
That EPCOT book I ordered recently from Amazon just reminded me again of how much I love the real books...as mentioned before, holding it, flipping through the pages, the wonderful smell of those pages...!!! :inlove: :)

have you ever got bored and tried to make the ugliest McMansion mismatch?

Sounds like fun, but no. Although, if you remember, I've actually posted some pretty horrendous McMansion stuff here before.
And, a bunch of same/similar stuff is posted on our office refrigerator door, from time to time.
We cannot help a lot of client "mistakes"...we consult and advise, but, ultimately they are mostly in charge, as it should be...they are paying us. Most are willing to listen because of the firms vast experience and knowledge, but, others, not so much. These clients are spending millions of dollars, and it's usually no cake walk for us.
Also, although I can see how that might be a good mind exercise of what not to do, we just try to not go there in the first place...! ;)

I agree. At some point the clients wishes trump logic.

Gosh. If you didn't live around Beantown, I would have thought you lived in the Netherlands like @Songbird76 ;) No bathtub? Sorry:(
Maybe it's a balance thing...most Dutch homes don't have bathtubs, so for every one in the Netherlands, someone in the US has to go without. Sorry @MinnieM123 . I guess I have your bathtub. BUT, if it's any consolation, I'm sure I use it enough for both of us!

I saw a couple kids at school with them yesterday....they spin them between thumb and forefinger. I guess it is meant to help with concentration, but kids are misusing them, according to my daughter. There was a girl in my son's class staring at another girl who had one, and you could just see her turn green with envy as she watched it spinning and then she says "That's such a boring toy" and I kept thinking "Then why are you riveted?" Probably won't be long before they are banned from schools because of playground fights over them.
