Ha! I think most grandparents had chairs like that in the livingroom, and doilies--ironed and starched doilies everywhere!! ;)

As kids, I remember my mother giving us kids "the lecture" before we went to visit the grandparents. "Don't touch anything, and be very careful not to spill your drink on the white doilies, when putting your glass down on grandma's livingroom tables." As kids, we felt like we couldn't hardly breathe or move when we visited them. Being on "best behavior" took practically an insurmountable effort on our part! :p

Oh my.
Both of my grandparents homes had doilies all over the place, but, they were also farm houses , and things got dirty, sometimes. We were pretty much always on "best behavior", but, we were always very comfortable being in/at both homes/farms..! :)

I have it. When I started college, it was a great way to get to know people, especially since I didn't live there. Now, it's a great way to keep in touch with them. I also use it to keep in touch with my relatives in SC. Get to see pictures of the kids a whole lot, which is a huge plus. I also like the newsfeed feature. I spend the majority of my time on there reading news stories, Forbes, Buzzfeed, and Entertainment weekly articles, etc. It's also where I find my favorite memes.

But I certainly understand why some wouldn't want it. I resisted it for a long time. :)

Agreed. I tried to explain that to my boss one day--that we all needed nap time in the afternoon.

That didn't go over well . .. :cautious:

There was a guy at the firm years ago that used to doze off during work hours. He was warned a few times, and then they let him go.
It was probably no medical problem either, because he was a bit of a partier. The firm actually started to give him some contract work outside the office at one point again as a kind gesture, because he was good at what he did, but, it didn't last very long, because he was falling way behind on deadlines. :cyclops:
Luckily, we have an hour for lunch, and can nap all we want, then...! :D ;) :)

I used to do that too and I didn't even know it. I was later diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and after getting on Cpap therapy the falling asleep at work problem went away. That was especially handy later on when I became a bus driver.

Yep, I've heard of that before. Also narcolepsy, etc. After a very reasonable amount of time, we all knew none of those things were this guys problem. He was simply overdoing it in the evening, and not just alcohol. The firm even offered to help him with time off so he could get some help and come back, but, when he denied there was even a problem, they finally let him go.

Glad the docs were able to help you get the sleep apnea under control. Especially when it comes to that whole bus driving thing...! ;)

They should book every one on another airline, only way to be safe! Maybe a suit of armour might work!

I've been gone most of the day but I've heard bits and pieces of legislation being crafted...nobody could get bumped from a flight if it was less than one hour before scheduled departure time-ending yanking people out of their seats.

The word re-accommodate bugs me. Re? Like they were ever accommodated in the first place. Blahhhh!

It was a wondrous day today. Low 80's-April! I bought a couple of Pansy flats and a few other lettuce, cabbagie things. Most of the planters in yard planted. Got about half the way through the front of the property and an old friend visiting her DD drove past my house-we seem never to get together....she started picking up all my gardening stuff and tossing them out of view behind my picket fence and said get in the car we are going out tonite.

Such fun, good wine, good food and lots of catching up. I never eat out doors and we did. No bugs, no birds, warm temps. Nothing like being unexpectedly kidnapped from your front lawn.

THNX. We got a bit of rain so I got my holiday errands run. I love going to the supermarket and breaking the register(I saved enough between my free turkey, card savings and coupons to need a manager's over ride) My favorite cashier was on and she knew to put her light on even before she finished ringing up my stuff:joyfull:
I bought my Easter ham today. They were .79 a pound so I bought two decent sized one. We'll be set for ham until Labor Day. :joyfull:
